Let me start off by saying.. I LOVE staying here, The staff from the valet, kitchen service, front desk, bell hop, to the ground keeper are extremely friendly and helpful… A+ in my book! Every time I’m in New Orleans I always book a room here at Sonesta on St Joseph St. Unfortunately, this time was a little different. As the bell hop assisted me (on crutches) to my room I saw trash in the hallway, and stains on the hallway floor. For this trip we stayed on the 1st floor room 181. In room 181 the floor (carpet) had several large dark stains in the living room and in the bedroom by the window, there was trash from the previous occupant still on the floor, the tub was not cleaned still had a dirt ring around and I soon found out why.. due to the water did not drain properly out, the water in the shower no matter if I placed on completely hot, it didn’t get hot.. so I took several cold showers.. because a girl has to bathe no matter what. I did everything I could to protect myself like cleaning the tub, and placed bath towels on tub floor and on the bathroom floor, and wearing my shower shoes. My expectations for Sonesta are high so they let me down this go around and I’m undecided if I’m going to stay there for my next trip in February during Mardi Gras season 2026. Come On Sonesta please bring your hotel back up to par.. I really do Love yal! ❤️🙃❤️🙂

The room was clean. The two things that made my rating a four star was that the refrigerator made a strange sound which was disturbing in the middle of the night. The other thing was that the pullout sofa had rust on it. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Lovely sitting area outside.

Breakfast was great. It was a very clean hotel. The bed was too hard for me. Everyone was so accommodating and kind. I would stay there again. Parking was expensive!

Great spot centered around everthing

Breakfast was fresh and very good. Room was really nice and centered around the best entertainment. Mist things were like 6 to 8 min away.

So many things wrong with this place. The bathroom door didn’t close, the water pressure, 4 day stay and NO CLEAN towels.. apparently the washer and dryer were both broken and that was our problem, no key card access for anything you can literally walk off the street and up the elevator, elevator takes 5 mins to arrive, absolutely no pool towels so again couldn’t get in the pool, couch in the room was terrible cushions WORN out, bed terribly uncomfortable. I wanted to like this place but there were so many issues. Just pay the extra and stay on bourbon. This was just so not worth it and a waste of money.
