Fine. Issues with room. Had to move. Then heat inadequate though it was fixed. Not super clean. Why do hotels put you in the least best room when there so many vacancies?

Love the Freehand

Freehand is a bit funky, but I have stayed a number of times and love it. Clean, friendly, nice. B

Love the hotel - but noisy the night we were there

The hotel is pretty, the staff were terrific, the room was nice and large (for NYC), nice restaurant/bar attached and a good location for this trip. And a great price! The only problem was street noise - people out having a good and loud Saturday night, a traffic jam on 24th provoked a lot of honking! seriously loud. (And we were on the 14th floor, but facing Lexington Ave). I would go again and ask for a room away from the street. One other note - there should be drinking glasses in the room.

This hotel has a lot of character. It’s very dated in many parts and what’s offered in the rooms as part of the room rate is minimalist. Pretty poor by today’s modern hotel standards. The rooms are small. The bed was pushed up against the window so one person had to climb over another to get out. The room was horrendously noisy from outside activities constantly through occupancy and through the night. Might be a good price point for NYC but we won’t be back.
