We booked this place solely for the indoor pool and hot tub. It was our daughter’s 11th birthday trip and she wanted an indoor pool. Prices of places that have an indoor pool during the winter months are understandably higher. When we got there they said the indoor pool and hot tub were undergoing maintenance. I contacted the VRBO lister and they said I needed to take the issue up with the management of the complex. I explained that it is their job to speak with the complex management, not mine as the renter. If the property you have listed has issues with something major like the indoor pool, you owe it to the renters to contact them before their scheduled trip and offer either money back or to cancel. As I explained to the VRBO lister, we can’t get that weekend back. We spent the weekend shut up in our room since the weather was frigid, so outdoor activities weren’t really feasible. Our daughter was a champ about it, but it’s really unfair this happened when it absolutely could have been avoided.
