Desert Rose is a cozy, secluded waterfront house on the 5-acre Monticello Estate. It is perched directly over one of the most beautiful beaches on the Island, famous for the unbelievable pink sand and turquoise water.

Enjoy fantastic views of the Atlantic Ocean. The big beach Tiki Hut and the deck offer a unique opportunity to experience paradise from a very close distance.
Cool breezes, crystal waters, the Palmetto trees, and miles-long beaches are what you will experience staying at Monticello - Desert Rose, which is a two-bedroom, one-bath cottage. The main bedroom has a king bed, and an additional room has a twin bunk bed. All rooms have separate ceiling fans and air conditioners. The living room has a big sofa, a Satellite TV, a DVD Player, and a stereo. The house has a separate laundry room with a washing machine and dryer. The place is ideal for 2-4 guests.

The Monticello estate is a luxurious and private 5-acre getaway beachfront property with a garden, gazebos, and cabanas. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean with great swimming and snorkeling in crystal blue shallow water, perfect for children. There are miles of beautiful pink sand to walk on and a large gazebo in the tropical garden to enjoy while listening to the sound of the sea.

We wanted ourselves a place on the beach and that's exactly what we got with this cute little place. The road getting in was a little wild but we got used to it pretty quickly. The house had everything we could need and the beach out front was fantastic. If you're wanting a beach front house, look no further.

We just returned from a 9-day stay in Eleuthera, and WOW—what an unforgettable experience. The home was absolutely beautiful, perfectly situated right on the beach with breathtaking views out there windows. We’ve stayed in a lot of vacation homes over the years, but this one truly had everything we needed.The beach itself was pristine—calm, clear, and peaceful. We spent almost every day right there, under the little tiki-style shade structure on the concrete pad. It was such a perfect spot to relax, read, and take in the view that we hardly felt the need to explore other beaches!The house was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. We did have a minor issue with one of the A/C units the first two nights, but the owners were incredibly responsive and had someone there right away to check on it. During our stay, there was actually a nearby fire (a little exciting and a little scary!), and again, the owners were very attentive and proactive in checking on us.Winnie, the caretaker, was also wonderful—so kind, helpful, and responsive throughout our stay. Check-in and check-out were seamless.We already can’t wait to come back. This is hands down one of the best places we’ve ever stayed, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Huge thanks to the owners for making our time in Eleuthera so special!

2nd Honeymoon Stay

Desert Rose was terrific from start to finish. The cozy house sits atop a beautifully turquois piece of the Atlantic ocean. Perfect for what we wanted...to simply relax and be in the surroundings of a largely untrafficed island. Given the central location of the property on Eluthera we traveled the island from top to bottom and enjoyed all of our adventuring and dining. Dont hesitate to book this sweet spot for a romantic, private getaway! Wed love to return. Thank you!

This is our first time renting a house right on the beach after visiting Eleuthera every year since 2013. Desert Rose was perfect. Even though we ate out every night, it has every imaginable item you need for cooking and grilling at home. The beach was perfect ~ so breathtaking. The photos don't do it justice. This is the first year we never ventured out to any of the other beaches for snorkeling. We used to go to Ten Bay or Gaulding Cay for a snorkel. Not this year. Even on the windy days, we stayed right on our beach and boogie boarded or body surfed like two kids, or simply just went for our walks up and down the beautiful stretch of beach. We hardly saw anyone else during our two-week stay. Barbara was great. She answered all my silly questions when I had asked about the reefs in front. I did muster up enough courage to snorkel them. Mrs. Williams was great as well. We didn't need to reach out to her after our initial meeting. I do suggest trying Unique Village for dinner. It's off the beaten path further south and you need GPS for directions, but the food that Chef Chris prepares is delicious. Buccaneer is also one of our favorites. Potlatch opened up while we were there but never got the chance to try it. I can't wait to come back next year!

We had a lovely stay at this wonderful house right on the ocean. The view was stunning. The house had everything you could need and both the caretaker and owner were very responsive. It was really nice to have a generator because the power has gone out for periods both times we have visited the island. Eleuthera is one of our favorite Islands with amazingly beautiful beaches that are never crowded. The locals are so welcoming and kind. I highly recommend the a visit and the location of this beach front home is close to restaurants and shops. We had such a great experience that we already booked another trip to Eleuthera with this owner.

Property is amazing! If you’re seeking solitude you can find it here. We spent 7 days and didn’t see people on the beach at the house. There is literally endless empty beaches on this island. I would say that dining is pretty expensive and limited, as is grocery shopping. Other than that, it’s a dream.

If there was ever a place that you could absolutely relax among the most beautiful ocean and mostly deserted beach, this is the place. Every time you look out at the crystal clear green ocean, you want to take another picture. Best Island Ever!

The Island is wonderful, but the property is vey beautiful, private and pristine. There an issue with a bridge leading to the property upon our arrival. The community stepped up and gave us a place to hang out as well as taking many people across the water around the bridge. The property manager was so understanding and sweet even though we were almost four hours late! The ocean was turquoise and silky very swimable. Fantastic! All of it. Food is very expensive so if you're able to, pack some!!

It was a wonderful location and the home itself was also nice, great deck! The beach was beautiful. I wasn’t aware that I needed to bring things like toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, trash bags and things of that nature. However, I probably should have asked and all of those things are available in a short drive.

Paradise in Eleuthera!!! ❀

We were having a very bad experience with another rental site and had to find a new place fast. Barbara, Winnie, and James saved us with our last minute booking. The house and property is absolutely gorgeous. Not enough words or even pictures can describe this property. We end up getting married right on the beach at the property. The property is so secluded. I’ve seen only 3 different ppl during our 8 night stay. Thank you Barbara for your wonderful gift. Thank you James for being our witness in our wedding. Thank you Winnie for wisdom and guidance. Great Vacation Home

This is the perfect spot to experience Eleuthera. The home has everything you need. It seems like you have the whole Island to your self...virtually no one sharing the miles long beach. The kitchen is well equipped. The Island Farm is nearby to supply delicious produce for an island cooked meal. Plenty of good restaurants nearby for excellent local Bahamian fare. To get a true Carribbean experience spend a week or more at the Desert Rose and fall in love with Eleuthera. You will not want to leave, and will vow to return.

The house and the property are amazing. The pictures do not do it justice! Just be ready for island time when you get there. We stayed for 5 nights. It was not long enough! I can’t even begin to tell you how great the beach Infront of the house was. Get out and snorkel! There is no need to go to the other beaches when you have the best right Infront of you! The host was amazingly responsive. The house was great. You feel like you are in your own little paradise. Restaurants and grocery stores are less then 15 minuets away. We can not wait to come back!

I wanna go back to the islands!

This is a slice of paradise
 a gorgeous, clean, private pink sand beach surrounded by palm trees and (yes, surprisingly) pine trees. We spent as many minutes as possible at the tiki hut being lulled by the waves and mesmerized by the shades of turquoise. The house is well appointed, comfortable and has a monster AC in the bedroom. If we visit Eleuthera again we would look forward to returning to desert rose.
