Perfect house for large family. Plenty of parking, terrific condition, great security gates for deck with pool. Lots of deck space, close to Publix, easy beach access. Poor quality sheets, and bath towels. No basic supplies ie: toilet paper, dish soap, bathroom soap, paper towels and kitchen towels. No hair dryers. Kitchen a bit tight but great fridge. Despite having to purchase all of these items, the location, size and space was fabulous to celebrate Nanâs 95th birthday! Elevator was perfect to get her to the top floor bedroom!
A brand new property we thought it would be a great place to stay. We had cockroaches running on the furniture while we sat there. They need to maintain better. No beach chairs, 1 roll of toilet paper and 1 roll of paper towels. No iron, but ironing board. The elevator didnât work at the move out time. They need to clean better if the house sits for a week or so before another renter comes in. Dead flys all over wind sills. Towels and wash clothes like rough boards and you have to make your own bed(s) when you got there. Not even a pizza cutter in the kitchen. Definitely disappointed in home, but great location.
I feel the pictures on the listing make things look a little bigger than they actually are. It also doesnât disclose that you have to walk by a house next door to get to the path and over the dune to get to the beach. It makes it sound like itâs right there! Overall it suited our needs though.
Overall this is a nice house and a great location on Oak Island. We had a mix of clidren (7+) and adults, and everyone enjoyed the week. While the stay was great, I only gave 4 stars due to cleanliness and property manager. The inside of the house was cleaned well, but the outside of the windows were obscured by sea spray/scum to the point that you could barely see the ocean. We ended up cleaning them ourselves so that we could enjoy the views. I tried to contact the property management company twice during the visit, but I never received any replies other than confirmation they received my message. A few other things to note: 1) there are minimal kitchen items so bring storage containers, pans, etc. if you plan to cook big meals, 2) there are no amenity items for the beach or pool (e.g., chairs, umbrellas, floats, etc.) 3) the pool was over-treated which resulted in some of our fabric items getting bleached and caused some skin irritation.
Oak Island has a beautiful beach. The house was beautiful but, needs some more furniture in bedrooms to store clothing. I would also suggest hooks in bathrooms to hang wet towels, robes and etc. We loved having a double fridge and top notch appliances. House was spotless when we arrived.
