Looked onto the roof with all the Air conditioner units , noisier than the trains going by.
When I requested another room , was told I booked an economy room and that is what I got!!!!

Greetings Sheena,The Hotel sits conveniently in the heart of town, but with that also comes a slight noise factor, and depending on the room type a big difference in the view. The Standard rooms do indeed look over the back of the Hotel but it must be said, are very reasonably priced and still allow you to stay in the midst of the fun. Next time we highly reccomend our beautiful balcony rooms which for a little more, allow you to view Central Park, or the quaint bricklined Park Ave with its many restaurants and shops. This property was in a prime location in Winter Park. The staff was friendly and the hotel was unique with lots of history and charm. It had a beautiful balcony that you could sit out and enjoy the weather and the activity along Park Avenue. It was wonderful.

Not so great

Greetings M. David, I appreciate your comments. The Hotel is 101 years old (the oldest operating business in Winter Park, so yes you will have creaky floors, but they are the original hardwood and are beautiful. The Hotel was built for the workers putting in the train line so does sit a little close, but we feel it is part of our charm. Can't tell you how many train spotters we get! On the other hand I hope you let the front desk know of your blocked sink, as this is a quick fix. We do apologize for that. Glad you enjoyed the Hotel and the Staff. That is important to us. Love the location and the "old time" feeling of the Park Plaza Hotel. Staff was really nice (they may be the owners) and although the room was small it had a great atmosphere.

It’s a tour through history in a once very posh hotel. Staff is very courteous. It is in a nice neighborhood downtown winter park with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. My room was a little small but the price wasn’t. I enjoyed it.
