Spa area was very dated,not kept clear by staff..paid 330 pounds for 2 nights but limited to 7-10am 8-9pm. Happy to charge paying guests excessive amount to access pool outside these times 15 pounds per person. Overhead beams in pool absolutely filthy, covered in dust. Leaves all around pool area. Robes discoloured, slippers not safe as slip all over due to wet area. Changing rooms size very small, to point had to wait until male changing area cleared before could use. Excessive greed re drinks, 2 glasses HOUSE wine £20, absolute greed. Cabin tiny, in need of refurb. TV doesnt even have additional channels. Mattress protector stained. Overall stay very disappointing to point chose to leave after first night. Wont be returning and will pass this experience on. As far as staff go, the first evening there was a very nice and helpful young girl on reception desk and girl at pool was very helpful when asking questions. Lovely service but hotel is rough around the edges

The room was fine, quite large but relatively empty of furniture so it felt a bit odd inside. The hotel itself is quite dated, quite desperately in need of a refurbish. The staff however were very kind, helpful, and friendly so can't fault that. I think if they spent some time refreshing this place and modernising it, it could be quite wonderful given the gorgeous location.

Could do so much better. Lovely location, very small rooms. Staff were all delightful but there aren’t enough of them. They have a bar with a sign that instructs you to go and find someone in the restaurant if you want a drink. Go to the restaurant and the staff have too much on their plates to worry about you. Food was patchy, breakfast is good value however if you get the right chef on the right day.

The place is well overdue for some investment. It looks tired and uncared for. The rooms are a disgrace, looks like they have not a proper clean in years. Dust everywhere, wallpaper hanging off, rusty fittings in bathroom, faulty window and door locks. The list goes on. Has all the quality of cheap 2 star accommodation.

We arrived at 530pm, check in was fine but the.mm could not find any staff to order food or drink. The bar, restaurant and garden were all full of empty glasses, plates etc. Toilet in bedroom flush and bedside lamp did not work. Great location for airport but hotel very tired and staff nowhere to be seen, not great for £170.

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at Chevin, both times we have loved the hotel and surrounding grounds, but on both occasions there was a wedding reception taking place, and the staff were very scarce to say the least for other guests.

The property is understaffed. Particularly at breakfast time. Far too many guests to be catered for by 2 young girls.The staff are very helpful and charming though. The food is satisfactory despite the slow service. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean.

Staff were delightful and friendly but obviously over stretched. Love the woodland and staying in our own cabin. Didn’t like such limited free access to spa. Didn’t like fire alarm at 6.30 and then no apology or explanation. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was nice. Bathroom weirdly designed so that you couldn’t sit on the toilet easily because the basin was in the way. All in all a good experience for us.
