Staff were wonderful and the grounds are very nice, but our room was horrible. It used to be a great place to stay, but there is zero decor on the walls, our bathroom door wouldn’t even close, and the couch in our room reminded us of something from IKEA. For over $600 a night, we expected to at least have some type of view, but nothing and the windows had film on them so you couldn’t see out. It’s like being in a motel!

The hotel overall is shabby and careworn. There are paint scrapes all over the place, and badly scuffed, slummy looking floors in the guest corridors. In our room, the bathroom, in addtion to substandard lighting and the presence of a badly banged up table whose function remains a mystery, had stone tile long overdue for regrouting. The ceiling track for the curtain in the room had been pulled out of the ceiling and the curtain itself was clearly too long for the windo opening and stained with rust. The sliding door to the patio had been damaged as well. The lighitng in the room was poor, cheap and substandard. The room overall had a dated and shabby appearance. The hotel also slapped a $50 per day resort fee onto our bill which was not mentioned in the expedia listing. They also dedcusted $200 for "incidentals", which we had no control over. In our case both of these were refunded when we complained about the condtion of the property.

Nice stay. Its a pet friendl hotel so youd catch the occasional barking so if youre looking for true quiet, you may want to consider a diff option. Other than that, it was great and would stay again.

I really like the boutique hotel it felt very private . Really enjoyed the amenities of a Pilates and yoga class. I feel the pool connected to the chi chi was a bit small . The larger pool was under construction . Enjoyed our stay highly highly recommend Bug spray my daughter was eaten up . Kaylee was amazing at the front desk ! My only recommendation specific to a suite there should be another option in the room besides espresso

We always have a wonderful time at The Avalon Hotel and Bungalows. We come from the Central Valley to Palm Springs a few times a year and always stay at the Avalon if possible. It is the quintessential Palm Springs hotel. Over the years we’ve tried other places, but always come back here due to the wonderful staff, beautiful grounds, and epic Mountain View’s from the property, which sits right at the base of the mountain. In addition to providing magnificent views, the property is centrally located in Downtown Palm Springs. Shopping, dining, museums and nightlife are all within walking distance of the hotel.
