Questionable 5 Star - need fly catchers over food?

Food was good, but you could get some of the same foods in other restaurants, it would have been better to introduce new foods rather than having the same foods. Bed was fine no issues. Internet was fine no issues. Hygiene with flies on food, they need fly catchers and repellents around the hotel. I saw loads of flies on the fruit which was a bad experience, the service staff didn’t care when I pointed it out. Hotel check-in was very poor! Not impressed I’m filing a complaint for this because we missed out on key activities.

The food was ok, mostly buffet style and a little repetitive. The service was good. The rooms need a little updating, and the AC didn't work well in one of our two rooms... they attempted to repair it, but it wouldn't get low enough to combat the humidity. The water in the sink is not drinkable, which is understandable in Mexico, but most of the places I've stayed before you don't need to worry about brushing your teeth with the sink water.

Infelizmente o salgazo impediu de usarmos o mar, porém o que não demandava de ações externas, o hotel entregou. Senti um pouco de falta de música, já que só tocava na piscina com bar para adultos. The description of the room on Expedia website was misleading. The description said the room cam accomodate 8 persons, while the 2 rooms with connecting door has only ONE king bed, which doesn't make any sense that 3 persons will sleep on the floor or put themselves at a risk of getting THREE rollaway beds assuming that the rooms can accomodate this huge number of beds. We were 2 families od 10 pesons, booked 2 double rooms (2 rooms each family that accomodate 16 persons).We called the hotel and they said the information on Expedia website is not correct As a consequence we had to cancel our flight, loose our vacation, lost one night (about CAD2000) and we paid for the Expedia's mistakes.

All the staff were courteous and friendly at all times and any issues were resolved immediately. My family had a wonderful time. All inclusive food and drinks were great. the only issue was with the smell of the sargasso decomposing on the beach.

I appreciated the communication prior to our arrival. I was able to make a request for room type/location and depending on availability, it was approved. We also liked the size of the property, it wasn't too big or too small. Everything was within walking distance at the hotel, and simple souvenir shopping just across the street. There was ample choices for food. The entertainment staff was friendly and welcoming. There were plenty of chairs around the pool and beach accessibility.
