Bad stay
Posted Mar. 21, 2024 on HotelsWhen arrived. All looked well. No one o reception to greet so had to goblooking for staff in the bar area.
Went to room which at first glance seemed ok. Bit tired but alright.
Got back to the room after being out for tea.
Just about to get settled down for the night only bed be met with a bug of some description on my bed. Looked further only to find another few of said bugs on the carpet. After using Google these said bugs looked like carpet beatles.
Tried to phone down to reception but no answer so yet again had to go hunting for staff.
We got an appology and moved rooms.
The second room was not much better. Wripped bed sheet.
Hair on bed sheets
Cobwebs in corners of room
Stuff under the bed.
At this point it was a case of turn the light off and try to get some sleep. Which didnt happen due to wondering if anything was going to crawl onto my bed.
Spoke with mamangment in the morning who checked the room with the bugs but said he couldnt see anything. Thank goodness i tain photos. He has authorised a refund but we will def not be re booking to stay again
Also when we were leaving the said room with the bugs was getting made up for in coming guests. It should have been in my opinion shut untill further notice.

Posted Mar. 13, 2024 on HotelsA delightful Golf Club with rooms . Great for a stopover . Nice friendly service. Pleasant bar for meals till 8:30 pm. Full cooked breakfast was excellent ( no fresh fruit though).
Great value , comfortable room very clean , ok the furniture is dated but fully serviceable.
Will be back for next trip South or North.

the decoration was a little worn but everything worked well enough and the shower was good for tall people like me.
food was good at breakfast with plenty of choice although I would have liked a pot of tea not self service to a mug. I would also have liked sugar free muesli ideally. dinner choice was good although quantity was a little light for a guy who had been out working all day (though I am a big guy).
i was in the hotel three nights and slept well. Staff were pleasant and helpful and managed to keep me in the same room for three nights when I had had to make two bookings to stay there three nights.
I will return.
Price was very good and agreeable and location worked well for me.
One last point the postcode does not take you to the hotel and will lead you a merry dance down a farm track and over a canal etc... find it on google maps or what 3 words first!!

Easy and close for parking. Quiet area.no road noise. Staff polite and helpful. Massive bed.
