Pool was the biggest disappointment - cold and we could not get the it to heat up- Hot tub was colder then the pool. We will never rent out this house again specifically for the pool and AC. The AC were all window units- rooms were loud and we were told to turn off every time we left the house - which made the house hot a humid for the first couple of hours we were home. Very nice host! He was the best but I would not stay at this house again.

Gorgeous location

Although this is a terrific property for a large group in a beautiful location, there are a number of ways in which we felt it fell short of “luxury.” The two beds described as queen size are actually only full size. The swimming pool appears large in the listing photo but is actually a narrow plunge pool. On the plus side, the kitchen is well-equipped and living room and patio are great group hang-out spaces.

The Good: * The host and property manager were great. Easy to communicate with, attentive, and very nice. * The location is great if you want to stay on the Northern shore of Kauai. There is a lot of convenience at this location, especially if you are golfers.* House is well equipped. It has most of what you'd need for a longer stay, including things for fun (bikes, pool table, etc.) * Size of the house is great for a family. Four bedrooms (two larger ones with king beds and two smaller rooms with full size beds). There are 3 bathrooms in the house (1 in the garage), but they leave some to be desired. The master bath is great, but the others have limitations--one has a shower that really doesn't function well and the other is quite cramped and has zero counter space. The not so good: * The house is dated and really could use some work and/or updating. The location is luxurious, but several elements of the home are not. * On top of the home being dated it could use a deep clean. The essentials such as bedding and towels were all fine, but areas such as the kitchen need more cleaning attention and the floors need several sweeps of a mop. * The pool is really more of a water feature than a pool, so don't get your hopes up if you are hoping to use it. The pool was also in rough shape. It was cleaned toward the end of our visit, but the plastering needs to be redone and was coming apart. We did not use the hot tub, but it seemed fine.

Home away from home

This house has everything you need for it to be a home away from home when on holiday in Kauai. The big doors, windows and ceiling fans provide a wonderful cool breeze through the house at all times
 making it clear when there is no need for AC’s. The pool and hot tub were wonderful when hanging out at home at the end of a long day on the beach. The chickens that came to visit every morning were a treat for my 16-month old granddaughter even though the roosters start crowing at the crack of dawn. Overall a wonder for stay! Will definitely go back there again.

Residence had many amenities to make your vacation stay pleasurable. Bikes, wave boards, pool table Beach chairs, etc. Pool looked much bigger in the pictures than it actually was Cleaning was a bit under expectations. Rental Manager was a big help.

Beware Cameras; Old; Needs upgraded

First, there were cameras facing inside property. Manger said "those don't work"!!??? The place needs updated, holes in sheets, mold on pillows; knives dull. Ran out of gas while we were there, manager was very quick to respond filled gas tank...but we had a whole night of not getting ready with hot water. Bikes were not well maintained, had to air all the tires, chains were rusted...used for a quick trip but would have used more if fixed. The location is great for Princeville! We loved the area. Manager was nice and helpful, but overall property needs work. Also,the place is very open and light which is great during the day, but no way to close up. Upstairs room has tiny closet and very bright. No ac--but we knew that going in--there are fans--but it's loud with all the fans. There was one camera out front facing into master bedroom and one out back facing into the patio and pool area. We put tape on them, tought it was odd to have them all facing inward to house and bedroom. If they are not working, why have them??? And why facing inward ever? The beds were like concrete and the sheets old, there were holes in one set. The couch pillows had mold all over them! The inside fridge was broken and the food kept freezing...frozen eggs tomatoes after 3 days. The outside fridge early kept drinks cold. The manager insisted it was working, but the food was frozen or warm so I disagree.

Good house, great location

Overall we loved our stay in Princeville! The location was great, convient to many beaches. We didn’t realize until we arrived, the house has no air conditioning. With the Hawaiian breeze, it was not absolutely necessary but a couple of evenings, it would have been nice. Also, the pool is much smaller than it looked to us the photos. We did have a couple of small issues come up, and Richard the manager was very quick to respond & help us. Overall, I would recommend you contact this home.

Great trip to Kauai

The house was very nice, there was plenty of room for four couples to relax and enjoy the property. Plenty of outside seating, the hot tub was wonderful. We enjoyed making meals in the spacious kitchen as a group. Easy to find, beautiful area, prefect for exploring the northern coast.

Loved this place, they had more than we thought they would in regards to space, kitchen items, useful beach items, bikes etc. It was a great location and good size home. Being from Texas we really need our AC, but it wasn’t too bad.. Sue, Monica and everyone else were wonderful!! Would recommend to anyone. Mahalo!

My family of 5 kids and myself gathered in Kauai to celebrate. Sue was an amazing property manager handling minor complaints and even offered us another home to stay at while waiting for a late plane departure. The Princeville home on Makai golf course was great location with exceptional communal space. Open concept first floor offered access to pool and patio kitchen and large living room. Highly recommend

Great place for a group!

Very comfortable place for our family whose ages ranged from 9 to 71. Plenty of room inside and outside in beautiful surroundings. Good places to be together and private spaces for those needing peace and quiet. Excellent communication with the owner who left fruit and treats for our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. GREAT beds, 31/2 bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, all made for an amazing vacation. Thank you Sue, we cannot wait to go back!

Very disappointed, certainly not luxurious, quiet or peaceful

It was very dated, pool spa not working when we arrived & for quite a few days throughout our stay. Screen doors dilapidated and quite a few didn't work. Fans & light switches difficult to locate and many not working. Very loud location, busy road opposite house carry lots of traffic day & night. Golf Course maintenance (mowing, rolling, & more) started at 6.30am every morning including the weekend. Roosters crowing all night and with non closing windows was exceptionally irritating, none of our party enjoyed a refreshing sleep. A poor start to our stay on beautiful Kauai. Was difficult to talk with property manager, didn't return calls only replied to 1/2 messages. Was more interested in sharing his life story, he certainly didn't know the property & couldn't show us the switches & wasn't familiar with the pool
