It was a very nice getaway experience in the wilderness lol! The cabin was nice and spacious and it would be good to share with families or friends. The lady at front desk is super nice and helped us a lot with our late check-in. There is a cafe around the property, which is very convenient given that they are in the forests!!

This place is close to Crater Lake and the setting is nice. Becky’s cafe was good also. At checkin they told me because I booked through Expedia we get a room upstairs with no A/C instead of a Cabin and that we should have used their website. Well I tried their website for days and it didn’t work. It was a hot day and our room didnt get cool enough to sleep until about 1am. Also there are no TV’s and shared bathrooms.

Hidden gem

Excellent stay. Friendly staff in every interaction. Beckie’s Cafe is excellent! Cell and internet service are sketchy, so expect to be cut off for the most part. Sometimes it is nice to unplug. Be sure to check out some waterfalls while there! A bit like entering hobbit and fairy land.

I’ll get the few downsides out of the way, no cell phone service and very limited WiFi. With that said this was the kids favorite part of our week long trip. The few days here playing cards and spending time will be remembered as the highlight of our trip. Staying by Crater Lake at Union Creek Resort.

Our room was so small there was no hot water in the room. It is not made very clear that some of the rooms share bathrooms. That’s weird to me. I understand this property is old but it needs upgrades.

The property is located in a nearby area around the Crater Lake Rim. The check-in time slot is relatively limited, even shorter than that announced in the website info. The condition of the property is more or less like a primitive tavern with insufficient sound insulation and inconvenient restrooms. The latter caused congestion of travellers in the morning.

Be cautious, the "lodge room" basically is in a "dormitory style", Mean very small room space. And no individual bath room. Only 2 bathrooms to be shared by total 10 rooms on the same floor. No cell signal and wifi signal is so weak that virtually no internet.

Old and run down

Super nice and friendly staff. Room was small and old. Shared bathroom and shower. No AC and it was hot. Fridge was too cold and froze our drinks. Luckily they didn't explode. Floors are super loud and creaky so you heard every step in the whole lodge. Door was falling apart. Bed was too soft. Wifi was 5% on, 95% off.

A great place to stay in a beautiful hiking area. Very quite, clean and large enough to support our whole family. A great restaurant (Becky’s) a short walk away, a nice river ran through the property snd a great location to get to crater lake. We would definitely stay there again.

Calling this property a “resort” is a stretch, but it is quaint and clean. We stayed in the hotel portion, built in the 1930’s. The room was quite large, but we could hear our neighbors. There are no elevators, the bathroom is a shared facility with other guests on the floor, and WiFi was pretty nonexistent (the front desk person warned us of the WiFi.) There is one restaurant across the street that is associated with the resort, food was very good. The grounds were well kept, and the river running next to the property attracted a lot of wildlife. A word of warning…make sure to fill up with gas before reaching this destination. We had to travel 1 hour, 15 minutes round trip to find a station that actually had unleaded gas. The two closer stations simply ran out. I would stay here again, it felt like “glamping”.

This ‘resort’ charges way too much for what you get. Read reviews before you book. Bathrooms are shared between 9 rooms in the lodge, so good luck getting in during the morning hours. There’s one restaurant (which is good) but they were understaffed and did not open for breakfast on one of the days. Food choices in the area are very limited if you don’t bring stuff with you. Staff was very friendly at least. They are about 30-40 minutes away from Crater Lake National Park, and you are basically paying for that.

Upon arrival our cabin/key was not left outside like the email stated it would be for after hours check-in. We were unable to stay at the location and found ourselves looking for a different place to stay at 11pm. There is no phone service, there is no person on-site after hours. We went into town and was able to call the resort but they have no voicemail set up. This place is a joke when it comes to customer service. You arrive after hours you are 100% on your own. Best of luck. The folks that neglected to leave our key out should be fired
