This house met our needs. We needed a place to leave a dog and for us to sleep while visiting relatives. We did not cook anything so never used the kitchen. 5 stars based on cleanliness. Could have had a more comfy couch and chairs maybe.
The house appeared to be clean, but, as some of the other reviews mentioned, it had a smoke smell. It also could use some basic improvements - the gate in the backyard by the driveway was completely dilapidated and held together by a bungee cord. The back door also looked like it had been kicked it at some point. The driveway is off of a four lane highway, which makes it nearly impossible to traverse. Other than these things, the house was fine and served its purpose (which, for us, was really just to sleep). It was a bit expensive for what it was (almost 800 for a two-night stay), but there are limited options in the area. The host was responsive and the house had basic amenities (it was, however, missing a bath mat, for example).
The house was clean, comfortable, and pet-friendly, which we appreciated. And the fenced yard was great for our dog.A few areas could use minor updates, but overall it was a good experience.
Came after partiers, owner was nice, but we all lost out
Check in was very easy. We arrived 8pm & walked into a cigarette smelling house. Tried airing out the house opening windows while unpacking as we had plans to stay 4 nights & needed this location. After unpacking, found more issues renters before us had left. We could tell the house had been cleaned but the smoke smell, major smell issues on the couch and seeing a large roach on the den curtains deterred us from wanting to stay all 4 days. Couch was unusable. We contacted the owners about issues. They asked what we wanted to do. We didn't feel staying in house for 4 days was an option/good for our family due to 2nd hand smoke risks. The owner was only willing to refund us fully if we left that night but we could not leave after 9:15pm with our family and have our family participate in the sports events the next day with arrival time at 7am that we had come for. I talked to VRBO and messaged the owner for over an hour. We eventually were told we would be refunded a good amount but ended up losing 400 for the 1 night due to v r b o fees, and what else the owner kept. We found another place to stay but it wasn't available until the next day so we stayed our night and moved on. House needs some easy upgrades.-add essential kitchen utensils, replace pots, better flatware, cabinets/ boxes need replacingWe were very disappointed with experience due to house and no fault of our own. Would not stay again but owner was nice. Renters before should be fined!!
Everything was accurate with the listing. The only thing that was an issue was parking for three cars forced us into the neighbors area on the street since the drive way was inconvenient and off a main road. The yard gate was loose and off centered which was solved by us wrapping rope to prevent our dogs from leaving but may be an issue for less prepared individuals.
