The chalet is so cozy and welcoming with a great view of the mountain and beautiful landscape. We showed up late as we were coming from Picton but Jane was looking out for us to give us a warm welcome to her property. Highly recommended to stay here.

John and Jane was the best host during our 2 weeks trip in South Island. They were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The chalet was clean, tidy, comfortable with a great view too. Jane provided an additional mattress for my teen son, which he preferred compared to a sofa bed. Thank you Jane and John for your hospitality, it made our stay that much more enjoyable.

A private little gem just out of Riwaka. If you like to wake hearing the birds sing and look out over a tranquil view of mountains and sea, this is the place for you. Three lovely chalets set among the trees on the owners property. Very comfortable bed, nice settee and all other amenities in the chalet for a restful self contained stay. We loved it. Your hosts Jane and John are friendly, helpful, but not intrusive.

Very well maintained in a quiet, rural setting. John & Jane are very friendly and informative and work very hard on the grounds and unit.Highly recommended! Go to the Riwaka Hotel for a good meal and visit the Riwaka Resurgence!

Lovely chalet, close to the beach and town. Awesome views to wake up to and enjoy a morning coffee. Chalet was well appointed with essentials, heaps of parking outside your room. Great place to get away from the hustle & bustle to enjoy a bit of peace & quiet. Jane, John and Izzy were excellent hosts!

The chalets are basic one room (with bed, kitchen, dining table and lounge) and separate nice modern shower. They are located in a very pleasant rural property with surrounding orchards and a great view. The owner was friendly and helpful. It had all we needed. We'd stay there again.

There were mice living in the chalet but Jane notified us ahead so we could cancel if we wished, also once there she offered to swap the room we were staying in. I will definetly be staying here again. Lovely couple, lovely situation. Mice were in the process of being evicted while we were staying, I didn't mind them at all being from the country myself.

Can’t say enough about this lovely property! Amidst a lot of craziness with travel changes in light of a pandemic, this property was an oasis of beauty and calm. Jane couldn’t have been more accommodating. We can’t recommend Terraced Chalets highly enough and would love to come back when the world returns to normal.

Terraced Chalets is just a beautiful tranquil place to stay. The chalet is very comfortable with everything you could need. We loved the front deck and being able to sit outside either with our morning cuppa or evening wine to appreciate the wonderful view out over the Riwaka Valley.

Great retreat at Rakia
