This was a beautiful home to stay in. The view from all floors was spectacular. The house was clean and well stocked with kitchen essentials (bring your own spices if you plan on doing alot of cooking). The rental company, Oregon Beach Vacations included personalized touches that elevated our weekend stay. My only critiques of the house itself are: not all of the windows have coverings, and at night it can feel a bit fish-bowl like. Not everyone gets weirded out by the thought of neighbors watching you cook or eat dinner. I'm high-strung. I'm the problem. The beautiful master bathroom does not have a door. So, if your significant other happens to be lounging in bed and the morning caffeine hits aggressively, might I suggest going to a different bathroom, unless sounds and smells of that nature are your partner's jam. I'm not here to judge, just inform. The beds are very firm. My husband adored them. I prefer something less firm, so I did a bit of hobbling around in the morning. Staying here felt as if you are exhaling from a deep stress-relieving breath. No matter if the weather is good or bad, this home allows for the ultimate PNW coastal getaway. I strongly recommend this location.

The view was great but it was so bright inside with no shades you had to wear sunglasses inside. That was the only issue but it was big with early sunrise and late sunset.

All about the views

We picked this place for the views and it didn’t disappoint. While some decor is a tad dated, and our dog was incessantly interested in the rug smells, we had a nice stay and good enough weather to enjoy the balcony. Also chilly enough nights to enjoy the tub and fireplace. Props to having no less than three coffee making options! Would be a great place for a family holiday with the space and double ovens.

Great house, poor management

The house itself it fantastic: unique, function layout and killer views. Unfortunately, Oregon Beach Vacations is running it on a bare bones budget, which is very frustrating for a place that cost us $600+/night. A few of the issues: - sheets and towels are old, rough, and cheap - single ply toilet paper - hard beds - very limited consumables (TP, paper towels, trash bags, dishwasher pods, etc) - there was pink algae around the bathroom sink drains and black mold in the shower - no deck chairs - BBQ propane tank rusted shut - no screens on most windows and sliding doors Looking at the previous reviews going back over a year it's clear OBV is aware of these issues but refuses to correct them. I'll be avoiding their properties in the future.

Best 40th anniversary, father's day, birthday place ever.

Love this house and everything about it. So lovely, best views of the ocean imaginable, super comfortable sofa & recliners to relax by the fire and watch the sunset from the living room. Great space for a couple of our adult kids and their wives to visit and hang out one evening for food and games and birthday gifts (and father's day fun). Best weekend ever - perfect place to spend it! Thank you so much!

Beautiful yet uncomfortable

Don’t get me wrong, this place is GORGEOUS. However, the beds are extremely uncomfortable. No one slept well and one member in our party had to drive 30 mins to buy a blow up mattress - yes it was that bad. The sheets are like plastic sandpaper and literally stick to your skin and the mattresses in every room are SO uncomfortable. The bathtub in the master bedroom also had red drips of something in the bottom and residue. No one used it for this reason. The kitchen was well stocked and it was decorated really cute, but we won’t be back just because everyone was achey and tired. Being able to sleep is really important on vacation. Also, when getting in the house the last number on the lock box sticks really bad and we almost couldn’t get the keys to go in. It is very beautiful and the location is amazing. But I wouldn’t recommend it, pick somewhere else.

Cleanliness Issues

The property is not well-maintained. The towels and sheets are low quality and thin and scratchy. The house was a little dirty when we arrived. One of the beds had a lot of sand and hair in it as if the sheets had not been changed. There are weird stains in the primary bedroom tub. It needed to be vacuumed. I reported it to property management and it was cleaned again. It was better. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. I tried to run it. It did not work. I reported it to property management who opened up a work ticket. After a day, the washer was still broken so I called again. At that point, I was told that the work order was canceled because the owner was going to replace the dishwasher. At no point prior to my arrival was I told that the dishwasher was broken. And I had to call to learn that they wouldn't be fixing it. Moreover, we kept finding dirty dishes that had been put back on the shelves dirty. DISGUSTING! Property management sent me a complaint form to complete which had a "be reviewed" by someone before they can do anything for us. I informed them that we would be leaving all the dirty dishes for then to deal with. I DONT DO OTHER PEOPLE'S DISHES BY HAND ON MY VACATION! The views are amazing. If I owned this house, I would maintain it better. Overall, it's kind of shabby.

Birthday Shenanigans

This home has amazing views. The house is set up nicely for multi-family groups. However, from the moment we walked through the door we were disappointed with the lack of cleanliness. I contacted the "property management" and Shelley apologized for the inconvenience saying she would have the housekeeper (Pam, as indicated on the card) come back to clean. We left to pick up food and were gone no more than 75 minutes. When we returned, we did not notice any change in presentation. I waited a few hours before calling back. Again Shelley was the person I spoke with. She told me the house was clean and had the audacity to argue with me. I sent pictures to her email of feces on the toilet seat, human hair on the washcloth laid out on the counter, what appeared to be dried blood on the tub (later to be determined a stain of unknown origin), obvious spilled fluid on sticky floors, and food on the stairs. I never heard back from anyone before checking out two days later. I looked for cleaning products to be able to disinfect surfaces but there were not any available to guests. All of this and still charged hundreds of dollars (had to revise review) cleaning fee. It is regrettable that the owners are either unaware of the lack of responsiveness from the "management company" that I am guessing they are paying a premium to ensure their guests are satisfied with the quality of the product, or they are okay with charging a cleaning fee for "enhanced cleaning" while leaving guests to feel disgusted as soon as they walk through the door. I did send the property owner an email to convey my concerns privately, but no response to date. I just wish I knew how to post the video!

Great views! Clean and lovely home

Would definitely stay there again if we need a place in Rockaway. Lovely, well insulated (never felt cold even with so many windows) and it was very comfortable on all three levels even though it was a chilly, rainy weekend. Our family plans had gotten canceled (wedding) but my husband and I kept the reservation and stayed there alone and it was peaceful and relaxing! The ocean views were perfect.

Could have been better, changed since last year.

This is the second Christmas holiday we’ve stayed here but we will be looking elsewhere next year. The propane fireplaces and the cook top did not work (out of propane, not checked before our check in). Two cadet heaters downstairs did not work; one of them was in the bedrooms. The mattresses were not comfortable at all. One of our kids had to sleep on the pullout sofa and it was really uncomfortable.

Host unresponsive to messages before trip. House in ugly gravel cul-de-sac. For-sale sign out front. Huge window facing ocean had smudges. Paper signs taped to tub: jets don’t work; soaker only. White walls around staircase very grubby. Carpet dirty, worn. Only 2 bedrooms with closing doors! Master bathroom has no door, only the whole bedroom. MOST WINDOWS HAVE NO CURTAINS; WE FELT EXPOSED, UNEASY, NAKED, THE ENTIRE TIME! Poorly homemade curtains don’t cover downstairs bathroom window enough (we draped a towel) or windows near bunkbeds! Window curtains in master bedroom were cheap shower curtains, size poorly modified! Cheap bug screens hung over sliding doors! Bedding is cheap, thin, old, faded. Both bunk beds are flimsy, wobbly, swaying; not even our 7-year-old girl trusted them. Had planned for each guest to sleep alone; forced to double up on lower beds. One bunk bed area was basically in hallway. Forgotten wet washcloth in upstairs half-bath on sink! Animal hair all over hard floor in master bedroom! Blood-like drips left in master tub! Poorly cleaned dishes, stove window, counters, sink, floor under bar stools. Long dinner table with short benches; not enough seating. Bay window bench had bed pillows for cushions! Mismatched, garage-sale-condition furniture everywhere. Breastfeeding chair and worn toddler’s toy cubby/bench in master bedroom. Scanty decorations on shelves and walls. Tasteless. Cheap knitted hot pads under some décor items. No telescope. Many baseball bobbleheads on wall of weird 2-story bedroom area with no window covers! Washing machine smelled bad! No supplies in laundry room. No cleaning supplies in kitchen except dishwasher detergent and few old laundry pods. In entry is cheap, tasteless display, a 5-minute craft project saying LIFE IS BETTER here. Decks have nice views (minus very close neighbor houses and junk), but the vinyl railings are flimsy and wobbly! Written warnings on ugly red tape say to not lean on railings! Nice view but too unsafe to enjoy! Mismatched, cheap deck furniture; small, dirty BBQ. We felt unsafe there; place felt like haunted or a cheap motel. One of us looked out window and saw a neighbor look in; creepy eye contact! Impractical floor and room layout. Empty, wasted space. House feels uninspired, poor, oppressive! No vacation house! We left as early as possible! Too many sticky notes with instructions from owners. Most disappointing house we have ever stayed at. We felt disrespected.

Beautiful Home

We had an amazing time. The home was very clean, welcoming and true to the listing. Home is stocked well with everything you would need in the kitchen and bathrooms. The views are gorgeous! Very peaceful neighborhood. We all loved our stay and wished we had more time there. Highly recommend to anyone.

Amazing View, but...

The view was spectacular from this house: 180 degrees of Pacific Ocean! The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked. It was, however, impossible to sleep in, as the house was VERY light at 4:30 AM. There were really only 2 bedrooms in the large house. Two lengths of the deck railing were VERY loose, and had red tape signs that said, "No lean. Loose rail." I would not want a child to fall off this rail - very unsafe.

First Family Beach Trip

This was our first trip to the Coast as a family of 3. I surprised my husband with a trip to the Coast with our 2.5 year old son. The house was a perfect getaway. Sunset views provided a perfect welcome. The house was well appointed and made it easy for family breakfast, fast trip to the beach to play. There were games for all ages in the house which helped with keeping our son entertained. We also played several games of hide and seek. Lots of rooms, lots of spaces, lots of stairs. Perfect for separation of spaces and wearing out a toddler. Perfect getaway for Adult time after our son went to sleep. Views were great from morning coffee and evening cocktails. Would easily have allowed for more people to be in the house and not feel crowded. Will definitely be back and hopefully share the experience with more family and/or friends!

Great view!

Was a great getaway for the two of us. We stayed upstairs, and both fireplaces worked. The view was amazing. Kitchen pretty well stocked (even the knives were sharp!!). Though, bring your own tin foil and plastic wrap. Will definitely recommend to friends.
