The hotel doesn't take credit cards so remember to bring enough cash. If you forget there is a bank of Costa Rica a short walk away but it only lets you withdraw 200 american dollars per day. The room could have used AC but the fan worked just fine. The nights were rather loud because of winds and trees dropping things onto the roof. The location of the hotel was ideal and the staff were quite efficient. Nothing beats waking up to the sound of waves crashing on the shore and enjoying the continental breakfast with the company of many friendly travelers and some local animal friends.

Loved it here!

We booked this place because the beach restaurant area looked like fun and we thought it would be nice to stay on the beach and watch a sunset. The pictures of the rooms don't do it justice. We were blown away when they took us to our "bungalow" which is like a modern day hut and it was so awesome! Samara had the best beach area we saw out of all the cities on the Pacific side. The town is small and everything is a short walk from the hotel. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Amazing location, food and staff

The beach chairs and beds out front are a dream, the staff is very attentive and nice. The food and drinks are delicious. There is no AC, and the fans are not very powerful, but there is a nice breeze that comes from being so close to the water so it wasn't bad. Wifi did not work in the rooms but I worked well in the restaurant and beach area. We had quite a few ants in our room

Great location and staff are wonderful.

Charlene at the reception was efficiante and welcoming,and gave us an upgrade immediately,The hotel is charming needs,a little facelift.The pillows and towels need changing,But All In All We definetly loved our little visit.A little piece of paradiseThey are building this little huts on the side of the hotel,which are gorgeous,hope to stay there one day.thank you Locanda.

Great Hotel

Great Hotel,great location ,great food and staff. Very cozy decore ,beautiful view of the beach ,great breakfast and natural juices. To get to the next level they need to add AC in the room and a TV and they can charge extra because is worth it.

Good and not so good

The location of this hotel was fabulous. The photos don't lie. The restaurant was decent and the stafff was very accommodating. However the bed was so hard it was like sleeping on a 4x8 board. The hotel and restaurant are cash only, as are most places in Playa Samara. They did not provide any wash cloths and told us they did not know what one was. The last evening before checkout, suddenly one washcloth appeared. The shower did have hot water, but only when the water pressure was extremely low. We discovered there were many travelers staying at other hotels, but using the beach and lounge chairs meant for hotel guests. I would say if you are young and can tolerate a hard bed, and have lots of available cash, then go for it. Playa Samara was a great location.

Sehr hübsches Hotel direkt am Strand.

Ein Ort wie in der Fernsehwerbung. Fließender Übergang des Restaurantbereichs zum Strand mit palmwedelbeckten Sonnenschirmen und dick gepolsterten Sonnenliegen. Große Zimmer, leider ohne Air condition, aber imnerhin mit Deckenventilator. Demnächst noch sehr schöne Cabins anzumieten.

Hôtel sympa

Nous avons séjourné 4 nuits dans cet hôtel. La chambre etait correcte mais assez sombre. Elle a au moins l'avantage de rester fraîche. Le personnel est très sympathique mais nous avons mis plusieurs jours à comprendre ce qui était inclus dans le petit déjeuner du fait du manque de communication de leur part. Autrement l'amenagement sur la plage est top!! Et le restaurant est également excellent!
