The air conditioning worked at 70°, however there were noisy condensation pumps that kicked on every hour and kept waking us all night. The hot water didn’t work at any spot in the suite, cold showers in both bathrooms. We repeatedly asked front desk to remedy situation but nothing was done about cold water only situation. None of the outlets in the lower bedroom worked, the wall light fixture had no bulbs in it, the kitchen cupboards were full of dust that the cleanish dishes sat in, there was mold all over the plumbing in cupboard under kitchen sink, the refrigerator handle was broken off and just laying on top of the refrigerator, and upon checking out and going over the concerns/issues, we were wished a nice day. Not worth the $300

Beautiful hotel. Our room and communal areas were very clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I left my phone and they made their best efforts to reach me to return it before we boarded for our cruise. The hotel is within walking distance of the pier and in the heart of the shopping area. I give them 5+ stars and highly recommend staying there.

Overall I recommend this place. Here are the pros: You are within walking distance of EVERYTHING You have shops, food, souvenir shops, & local foods :They provode towels for the beach :You a near water ferry for just $4.00 ROUNDTRIP to the other island. The staff veey friendly. :The rooms were clean. : The water was hot. :Locals are friendly Cons: Streets ARE congested because IT is a cruise port. : Bugs bit me but the hotel provides spray :Some steep hills bring walking shoes :

I was left (unpleasantly) shocked at the seeming disconnect between the Expedia ratings and what we found from our room and the hotel. We stayed in the San Sebastian suite and found the room to be in very poor and even unsafe condition. There were exposed electrical outlets near running water and at the height of our 3yr old. The kitchen cabinet front fell off, almost onto toes, with barely a touch, revealing a previous 'Command Strip' fix. The decorative topper on the stairs was stripped and only loosely placed in position. There were many areas throughout the room that demonstrated poor condition, care or attention to detail. The lighting was poor, with bulbs of various color and limited brightness, including fixtures without bulbs. There were numerous areas of exposed plumbing attachments that had been plugged, with little care to repair tile. Our communications to the staff, while received positively, resulted in only a fix to the outlet over the bathroom sink. Other 'amenities' were lacking and showed little active engagement by staff..... for example, the fresh/ice water container in the common area was shown to us on check in and the majority of the time was just empty, having received no attention from staff to fill. Overall, the property is in a great location but is plagued with poor condition and seeming apathy from staff to improve or actively provide for a good experience.

This hotel is everything as advertised. It is completely walkable to everything and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The only reason I gave four stars in some areas was because of the condition of the property. The rooms are interesting, no windows to the outside, but a lovely seating area just outside of the rooms. It’s an older building that’s been converted and I think they did a good job with it. It just is what it is. Our accommodation; the bed in the room itself was comfortable, and there was enough storage to put your things as well as slip your suitcase under the bed because it was high enough, so it was out of the way. But I spent a lot of time sitting in the cozy area outside my room rather than in the room when I wanted to relax. It was also very safe because it had a coded entry door.It was quite comfortable and did the job and it was certainly budget friendly for my intended purpose. I would stay there again!

The power went out in old San Juan so we end up unable to shower because of the cold water. They expect 2 people to sleep on a small pull out couch.
