The Space:

Sea Star Villa is a recently renovated 2-bed 2-bath beachfront apartment located at the Ocean Villas Building within the grounds of the Wyndham Rio Mar Grand Resort in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. You will love the ocean views from both terraces, the living room, and one of the bedrooms. The condominium has 3 ocean-front pools and a Jacuzzi, all within walking distance. The beach, also within walking distance, is across the pool and there are lounge chairs available for guest use.



You are a 7-minute drive away from The El Yunque national rainforest, within 10 minutes of over a dozen dining options, and a short 20-minute drive to Fajardo and the boat charters to neighboring islands that depart from its ports.



**PLEASE DO NOTE THAT THE OCEAN VILLAS BUILDING IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE WYNDHAM RIO MAR RESORT.**



IMPORTANT NOTE: Guests **are not** authorized to use ALL of the Wyndham Hotel amenities and facilities. Sea Star Villa’s guests only have access to the Iguana's Cocina Puertorriqueña Restaurant and the Hotel Casino, as well as the Golf Courses, Tennis Courts & Spa (all available with prior reservation booked directly with the hotel). The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the building and they reserve the right of admission.



Please do note that this can change at any time without the hotel informing us and should take this under consideration before booking the unit.





LIVING AREAS



The living room has comfortable seating for six adults. The living room has beach and ocean views and a terrace with a breakfast table for two. The dining room has a four-person dining table and is seamlessly connected to the living room. There is air conditioning throughout the entire apartment.  



 

BEDROOMS



There are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed with a seating area and cable TV. The master bedroom enjoys golf course and rainforest views. The master bathroom has two doors, one that opens directly to the bedroom and another that conveniently opens to the living room.



The master bathroom is also where you'll find the washer and dryer.



The 2nd bedroom has two full beds, an ocean-front terrace, cable TV, and a dedicated full bathroom.





PACK AND PLAY (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY):



We can leave a complimentary Pack and Play at the property upon request. This should be requested upon booking or no later than 5 days before arrival. Pack and Plays are subject to availability.





KITCHEN



Sea Star Villa has a small and tidy kitchen that is well outfitted for an extended stay. There is a 4 burner stovetop (no oven), microwave, and fridge.



PLEASE NOTE:: This villa **does not** have an oven.





GETTING AROUND & PARKING



Sea Star Villa includes two (2) parking spots.



Renting a car is a must when staying in Rio Grande as Ubers and taxis are not readily available in this area.



There are many activities within 15-30 minutes of driving distance and the roads are easy to navigate.





LOCATION



This private beachfront villa is located at the Ocean Villas Community, within the grounds of - but not associated with - the 500 acre Wyndham Rio Mar Grand Resort & Spa. The Ocean Villas community boasts three oceanfront pools and a jacuzzi available for use of community residents and guests only. There is 24 hour security and underground parking. The Ocean Villas are directly in front of the beach and include access to beach lounge chairs.



There are many things to do in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico in addition to enjoying the amazing beaches and pools.



Here are our top picks which you will be sure to enjoy during your stay:



Explore the lush and exotic El Yunque, the only rainforest under US Flagship. We can help you plan a hike or participate in a zip-line adventure.

Experience the glowing waters on a nightly a kayak tour in the bioluminescent bay in Fajardo.

Taste the local flavors at the staple Luquillo kiosks on the beach.

Go on a horseback or four-track ride off the beaten path in Carabali Rainforest Park.

Reserve one of the 13 tennis courts and 2 golf courses available at the Wyndham Resort.

STARTER AMENITIES



At West Indies Vacation Rentals, we strive to provide top-notch amenities, ensuring our guests feel at home during their stay.



All properties come with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest.



We provide a set of disposable essentials to help you get your vacation started comfortably. These include:



- 1 set of hotel-size soap and shampoo (per bathroom)

- 3 garbage bags

- 1 roll of paper towels

- 2 rolls of toilet paper (per bathroom)

- 1 dish soap

- 1 dish sponge

- A small amount of laundry detergent



Please note that we do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is the guest’s responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock any additional items needed for the duration of the stay.



Most properties also include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler. You may reach out to us 5 days before arrival for confirmation.





HOUSE RULES



RENTAL AGREEMENT: All bookings require a signed Short-Term Rental Agreement, which will be sent upon confirmation of your reservation. Guests must upload a valid photo ID (no selfies) that matches the name on the credit card used for the booking. The agreement must be signed within 48 hours of booking or prior to entering the property, whichever comes first. Check-in instructions will not be provided until the agreement is completed.



NO SMOKING: Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property. A $500 smoking fee will be charged if this rule is violated.



NO PETS: While we are pet lovers, pets are not permitted at the property at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if this rule is violated, and guests may be asked to leave the property.



QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Please be mindful of noise during these hours out of respect for nearby residents/neighbors.



UTILITIES (WATER & ELECTRICITY): In the event of an interruption to water or electrical service, the host is not responsible for hotel, alternate lodging, or transportation expenses. If service is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests may cancel the reservation and request a refund for unused nights only. Nights already used are non-refundable.



MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: The maximum occupancy is 6 adults/children at all times, including visitors.



OCCUPANCY ENFORCEMENT: Occupancy limits are strictly enforced. Exceeding the maximum occupancy may result in immediate cancellation of the reservation or removal from the property without refund.



TOWELS & LINENS: Towels and linens are provided for normal use only. Please do not use them for cleaning or allow them to be stained with food, grease, or other substances. Charges may apply for damaged or stained items.



TOWEL HANGING: Please do not hang towels or any other items to dry in areas visible from outside the unit. A $100 community fine may apply if this rule is violated.



SUBLETTING: Subletting or re-renting the property is not permitted.





CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT TIMES



Check-in begins at 4:00 PM, and since this is a self-check-in unit, you can arrive anytime after that.



If you’d like to check in earlier, please contact us the day before your arrival, and we’ll confirm availability. When possible, early check-in typically starts around 11:00 AM. Please note that early check-in is subject to availability and depends on our cleaning schedule.



If you need a guaranteed early check-in, you will need to book from the night prior to ensure the property is ready upon your arrival.



Check-out time is at 11:00 AM. For late check-out requests, please reach out the day before your departure, and we’ll be happy to check availability for you.





TRAVEL INSURANCE / HURRICANE SEASON



We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, not only during the peak months of Hurricane Season (July to October) but also throughout the year to cover unexpected events such as travel delays, pandemics, or other unforeseen issues.



Travel insurance is inexpensive and can reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, coverage will depend on the policy purchased. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase.

Better than the pictures!

We loved staying here! The rooms were bigger than we expected. (Usually VRBO pics make the rooms look bigger than they actually are. But here, the rooms were bigger than the pictures!)The A/C in the unit worked well and we never felt too hot when sleeping. We had trouble one day with the lock system to get into the room. I sent a msg to the owners and received a reply within about 90 seconds. The issue was resolved immediately. You won't be left hanging. The views from the balcony were awesome and the pools and hot tub were fantastic. The hot tub was empty of people at night, so we had it all to ourselves. We'd definitely come back to this condo again. Our only recommendation for the owners: To obtain a Roku for the living room TV. The bedroom has a Roku, but it would have been nice to be able to sign into Netflix in the living room too. But honestly, if that is the only recommendation we can come up with, you know the condo is great!

LOCATION

You can't beat the property. Very nicely kept out side and plenty of people to maintain it. Very close to many amenities. The pools and beach are right there in a short walk. The property we stayed in was very nice. The only issues we had was the remote to the gate did not work all the time and we had to sit for a while till it opened. Management did try to correct the problem by ordering a new remote but still had the same issue with the new one. I think the mother board in the gate assembly was not reading that particular frequency because the other guests didn't have that problem. The air conditioner drain line in the master bed room became clogged and leaked in the room. We called management and they dispatched maintenance right away and they took care of the problem. Over all I would still rate the stay a big TEN!

Amazing location!

Our family had a wonderful week at the Sea Star Villa. The setup was perfect for staying a full week, we were able to use the kitchen to prepare meals when we were not going out for food, wash clothes so we didn't have to travel home with laundry & were able to use some thoughtfully left items such as pool floats and a beach umbrella. The view from the balconies could not have been better.

Beachfront location family getaway


We had a great week in the sun at this beachfront condo. The location is great, right next to the Wyndham resort, On the beach and across the street from El Yunque. It was Christmas week, so it was hard to get into a few tours, and hike in El Yunque. Pros - location, cleanliness, access to high end $$$ restaurants and the casino. Cons - in the condo itself, there is barely any hot water or pressure, and an incessant noise in the bathroom that needs to be fixed. Also, I would have hoped for a better communication upon entering. After a long day of traveling we couldn’t get in at the front door and had to call. Same upon leaving. Better communication or help would have been great, and some hot water for this price. The hot tub by this pool is cold. It was unclear which pools we were allowed to use as well. Got yelled at a few times by the security which was unsettling. Again, communication. We did enjoy ourselves overall, and I would recommend this unit after some of these issues are dealt with.

Fabulous Puerto Rico Beach Vacation

This is a great property -- plenty of space for a family, with extraordinary views of the beach and well manicured pool area. The interior is nicely decorated -- modern and comfortable. While the setting is fabulous, the actual unit has everything you need to make the most of your beach vacation. It's convenient to San Juan, El Yunque, and to a variety of restaurants. As to the beach: certainly a trip to Vieques or Culebra can guarantee a gorgeous beach, yet at this property a lovely beach is just steps away. Definitely recommend!

This property is right on the ocean and we literally had the beach to ourselves. Our entire family got covid when we were supposed to take our trip but thankfully the rental company allowed us to push our vacation off by a few weeks. We had an absolutely amazing time!

Wonderful Perfect Stay

Everything about this property was wonderful. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. Wonderful view of pool, ocean and palm trees from the two balconies. The view from the window in the other bedroom was equally stunning of the golf course, forest and mountains to the west. The beach and pool areas were clean and in perfect shape. The overall gated area of the Wyndham property with it's hotel, condos and golf course was beautiful and very well maintained.
