Reasonable stay

It was a perfectly reasonable Japanese hotel. The breakfast was better than many but just a 3 out of 5. Our previous two hotels had much more variety (but breakfast also cost more at them). The food was fine but after three days you got tired of basically the same menu. They seemed to have two slightly different menus that alternated. Most items were the same but a few switched back and forth. Typical Japanese pillow. Each bed had two. One normal, reasonably comfortable, and one “bwan” filled with padding on top. Mattress was typical Japanese firm. The comforter we great. The rooms were a bit small (with suitcases etc) but serviceable. Nautical decor was nice. I’d stay again if in Otaru.

We only stayed in Otaru for one night, but we would definitely stay here again. Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. We got there early so they held our luggage for us and delivered it to our room while we were out. They even gave us umbrellas to use when they realized we didn’t have one. There is a Family Mart, shops, and places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. Bonus, they also have 2 washer/dryer machines and an ice machine on the second floor.

Love Otaru & the Torifito

Clean and spacious room! The hotel was in an ideal location and within great proximity of the train station, post office, museums, the canal, bus depot, restaurants and shopping. Enjoyed their breakfast buffet with many options as well.
