Maybe, maybe not

I had no issue checking in then proceeded to get into my room. Got comfortable and suddenly someone was coming in my room with their own key. I was said...this room is taken. Excuse me? She says oh! I was just given this room im so sorry. Then she walks out and im thinking...ok. hope you get things fixed. I havent even been checked into the room for 30 minutes at this point. Then i hear banging at my door. "You need to check out. This room is already to be used" What? "Come out maam." I opened the door a crack and I said i am not dressed. I just got here. What is needed? And he says. "Get dressed maam come out." I got clothed and went to the door opened it and asked... what is the problem? You just gave me this room. I have already paid. What is wrong? And he is the same that helped check me in. He says...today? For 2 nights? I said. No for one night. "Oh sorry sorry. It is fixed" and he leaves. Later i asked for a late check out and was told No. They dont care of the inconvenience of having had me scared that someone else was able to get the key and check in for the same room. Rhey also didnt care about rhe inconvenience of wasting my first hour of relaxation. Not good business. Make sure to take your own towel to the pool or you can buybone for ten bucks at the office 😆 What i did like... spaciousness of the suite. Almost cleanliness... someones tissue was still under the side table.

Won't be back!

I knew this was an older, more quaint hotel so I was prepared for it to be a little run down, have a certain smell, etc. The room was clean-ish. The smell of overpowering cleaning supplies told me they were trying to cover up the old smoke smell that lives in the hotel. We had a lizard and mosquitoes in our room, ok - not too big of a deal, we're in FL. Our air conditioner quit working. I called the front desk and after Bill looked at it for 30 minutes he tried to mansplain that it was cutting off because the table was in the way...eyeroll. He offered us another room. Once we got into that room the smell from the people smoking outside was coming in. Once again, I called the front desk and told him we could no longer stay and needed a refund. At midnight, and after dealing with the AC issues for an hour, Bill told me I was being "ridiculous." Look, I get things happen that are out of your control, but not having AC in FL is not being "ridiculous." Bill, you really should find another job if you think people being able to sleep in a smoke-free and cool environment is being "ridiculous."
