About this property
De Pando - Ravello
Palazzo de Pando is a noble residence whose original core dates back to 1086, located in Scala, a short distance from the famous Ravello and set in the spectacular backdrop of the Amalfi Coast.
The building, expanded and modified several times, still constitutes today a perfect combination between a rustic villa and a town house, the result of a meeting between the needs of land management and agricultural production and those of housing and leisure for a noble family.
The sumptuous palace, built starting from 1086, also known as Casa Romano, is located in the Campoleone district, in a dominant position towards the coast and towards Ravello to the east, while to the west it looks towards the Lattari mountains.
The history of Scala is closely linked to Amalfi and the Maritime Republic and in the Middle Ages with textile trade it reached great economic prosperity.
That it was a small but important city is confirmed by the religious buildings and palaces still existing today, which are full of historical and artistic interest and form an attraction for both tourists and scholars. The same palace preserves a noble chapel with a rectangular plan with sail-shaped roof and two doors, one towards the garden, below the small loggia, and the other communicating with a room.
A wide and comfortable staircase leads to the upper floors where the noble apartment is located, composed of a series of rooms in sequence, with a rectangular layout, and a pavilion roof. We also find large stone rooms with star vaults, which will later be used as a restaurant.
The second floor of the building, with access from the rear garden via an external staircase, houses De Pando Panoramic Suites 1086, a luxury accommodation facility open to the public in June 2025.
All suites with sea view are equipped with high-speed wi-fi, air conditioning, mini-fridge with guest amenities, towels, and high-quality bed linen.
The rooms, all suites with excellent finishes, inspired by the colours of the sea and the majolica of nearby Vietri, each have a private en-suite bathroom with shower or bathtub, private external terrace with sea view furnished with a small table, chairs and rocking chair. The facility also has an outdoor pool equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas, large garden and parking.
Upon reservation, it is possible to request breakfast in the room, at a cost of €25 per person available from 8:00 to 10:30am.
A sunset aperitif service is also available, at a cost of €60 per person with a selection of wines from our sommelier paired with appetizers.
