Boat trips to the Farne Islands depart regularly from the harbour where the puffins and grey seal colonies are a spectacular sight. There is an impressive golf course on the links only 300 yards from Lynbank, and horse riding can be arranged less than a mile away.



Two miles down the coastline is Beadnell, renowned for its extensive golden sandy bay and popular for water sports, including kite surfing, diving and water-skiing. Three miles up the seashore is the picturesque village of Bamburgh, dominated by its magnificent castle. A short drive inland brings you to the historic market town of Alnwick, where its own castle is a popular visitor attraction along with Alnwick Garden.
