Room was clean and had everything we needed> location was great, 10 min walk to Pike's Place and 10-15 to many other things. The bed was so firm that it made both my me and my partner's arms fall asleep when sleeping on our sides. We have a firm mattress, but it's a Casper(foam) not a spring. Also, it had a top sheet on as a fitted sheet, so only one sheet, so we were kept waking up too warm, the top sheet helps a ton with temp regulation vs just the duvet.
The stay was pretty good overall. The room was quite small, but we knew that going in. Can't be helped. The price, as advertised, is lower than others, but we had to book through VRBO to get a lower rate than the hotel offered on their website. Thats weird, but ok. But then when you checkin, you are told you are still paying the resort fee per day, despite that not being reflected on VRBO. Luckily (or unluckily), the fee was waived for us because we got stuck in the elevator. So, unless you plan on getting stuck on an elevator, you will be told at the front desk you are still paying the resort fee (just not through vrbo, its a separate charge). This seems a little scummy to me, especially since other hotels in the area dont charge the resort fee. Also, what is a 'resort fee' in this instance, as this is a hotel not a resort and there were not amenities indicative of a resort. Just seems like a fee Hotel Max gets to charge for fun so they can make a little more juice off the top.
Aside from that, the room was fine. Small as I mentioned, but clean and comfortable. Window Unit worked as it was supposed to. Water pooled in the tub if you took even a quick shower, so thats not ideal. You are gonna hear the city outside when you stay, so be prepared for that. Staff were mostly polite (shout out front desk manager Samuel) but some were either incompetent or little rude but nothing I care to go into detail about.
