We had an absolutely wonderful stay in Selfoss! Thorsteinn was an exceptional host—very kind, responsive, and always quick to answer any questions we had, which made everything so easy and stress-free.The home exceeded our expectations in every way. The photos truly don’t do it justice—it’s even more beautiful and spacious in person. We were two families of six, and there was more than enough room for everyone to spread out comfortably.One of the highlights of our trip was seeing the northern lights right from the house—such an unforgettable experience! The home was also perfectly set up for our group. We cooked all of our dinners there and found the kitchen to be fully stocked with everything we needed. Having both a drip coffee maker and a Nespresso machine was a great bonus and something we really appreciated.The beds were very comfortable, and the entire home felt cozy and welcoming. The location made it an ideal home base for exploring Iceland’s southern coast.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area!

What a wonderful stay for our family. The space was perfect for our group of 8 adults. The property was conveniently located near many attractions but far enough out of town to allow us to see the northern lights almost every night. The kitchen was well appointed. The main living area was spacious and bright. The saunas were a huge bonus and something we used almost everyday. Thorsteinn was a great host. They answered our questions promptly. I cannot recommend this place enough. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We had an excellent stay here. Everything was exactly as it was in the photos and descriptions. It was very easy to find, and easy to get to. We had a shorter stay, and it was a great location for us to access our other activities. The house was very clean and perfectly prepared for our arrival. The porch, hot tub and sauna outside were wonderful to utilize. As a group of seven, the house was a great size. Additionally, one of us had to do some work during the stay and the wifi had no issues. There were minimal departure requests as well, basic clean up that we would have done anyway. We would (and hopefully will be) staying here again. Thank you for a fantastic long weekend!

It is critical to review the email that the host sends the night prior to type in the actual coordinates of how to get there. If you do not have the coordinates, it leads you to a different spot.Once there, the house was well laid out and the hot tub and sauna were really nice.Make sure you bring your own coffee and I would recommend bringing a Bluetooth speaker because they don’t have those available.

This house was the perfect spot for an Iceland trip. It is well-positioned in the Golden Circle but only about 15 minutes away from Selfoss and Hveragerði. There are beautiful views from the house. The sauna and hot tub (pool) were a bonus.

Perfect!

This truly is a “luxury modern home.” It has all the amenities in a clean, comfortable, stylish home set on a hillside with beautiful views.This house is the place to stay! The hosts are incredible! We had a complication due to a flight cancellation and they were so accommodating. They were kind, understanding, and quick to respond and help us find a solution. They saved us from being homelessness for a night! Really grateful!

Rural Selfoss

Our family of 11 had a perfect stay in this quiet, rural area close to Selfoss. The setting, location, and facilities fit our every need. We stayed for five days and were able to drive the Golden Circle, visit the South Coast and Vik. The kitchen is spacious for 3-4 chefs and well furnished. Our family enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. What a treat to relax at the end of each day. Thank you to our hosts Thorsteinn and Bjargey.

Lovely home, with great location

We stayed here for several days. The house was exactly as described. Lots of kitchen items and a wonderful coffee, so pick up some beans on your shopping trip. There was a slight issue with the water when we checked in however the host had provided his number to call. He was immediately available and have great instructions on how to correct the issue. Smooth checking, great communication, looking forward to staying at their properties more.

I stayed here with my wife and adult children for part of our Iceland vacation. House was in great location for visits to the Golden Circle and we all enjoyed our stay. Beautiful property about 20 minutes away from Selfoss. Fully equipped kitchen, heated floors, and enough space for a group or family. Thorsteinn was very quick with communication and very patient with our questions. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights during our stay and will always have fond memories of Iceland!

Perfect location

Great time for our first trip to Iceland! Our family of 4, 2 college age sons, enjoyed a week of sightseeing and relaxation over the winter break. Grund was located perfectly for us to do short day trips up and down the southern part of Iceland during the short days. We didn’t use the hot tub or sauna because the snow was too deep around it but didn’t miss it at all. We were lucky to see several nights of northern lights with a spectacular display on New Year’s Eve. It is a great house ,location and host. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

Christmas in Iceland

Our family braved the cold and spent a week in Iceland over Christmas. The property couldn’t have been better. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, steam sauna, cooking in the beautiful kitchen and the proximity to wonderful sights close by. It was a vacation to remember! Awesome Property and Location, perfect for exploring southern Iceland and light viewing!

Awesome, great location in a 'neighborhood' not too desolate, but sparse enough for excellent viewing right on property on walkable in the neighborhood in all directions. Excellent property itself, and really close to Selfoss for food, drinks, etc. Excellent experience and hope to be back!
