You can also visit vineyard productions, and donÂŽt forget to taste our very well known "Tortas de AzeitĂŁo" (Cake) and taste our delightful cheese (Queijo de AzeitĂŁo). The region of AzeitĂŁo is famous for its gastronomy, and during Summer you can find in the surounding villages (from June to September) several gastronomicall festivals. Be sure to taste the grilled fresh fish, which is a delight and not expensive. In SetĂșbalâs Peninsula were created 5 "Wine Routes", combining Turism, Art and Nature, with tasting famous wines, cheeses and sweets of the region. You should get to know the Praia dos Galapinhos (a beach), that was considered the best european beach in 2017. Here you can relax and take baths on very calm waters. From May to August, try one of the most enjoyed snacks of the Portuguese people, the snails ; You can taste this tasty snack in the âCasa dos CaracĂłisâ (House of snails) restaurant.Sesimbra is one of the most tourist spots located in south of Lisbon, near ArrĂĄbida ridge, and it is knowed by the turquoise blue and calm beaches. It is also a special gastronomic area, with traditional summer dishes, witch includes fresh fish such as grilled sardines and the typical fish stew. There are a lot of outdoor activities (more or less radical), such as canoeing, hiking, climbing, dolphin tour, etc.The property is located in Vila Nogueira de AzeitĂŁo, in the Natural Park of ArrĂĄbida, which offers magnificent panoramic views over the natural reserve, Sesimbra, Caparica, Lisbon and the Tagus. It is ideal for all those who love nature. Vila Nogueira de AzeitĂŁo has several supermarkets, pharmacy, banks, coffeeshops and good quality restaurants with reasonable prices .Beaches: Apart Portinho da Arrabidaâs beach, already mentioned, there are still many others beaches worthwhile visiting. I recomend the beaches of Meco, Figueirinha, Troia and Comporta. And if you go in direction Lisbonâs, you will find the beaches of Caparica and Lagoa de Albufeira, long and wildly beautiful. On several of those beaches you will find clubs for Surfing, Windsurfing, Kitesurfing and diving schools. The long sandy peninsula of Troia lies to the south of Setubal and is connected by a regular ferry service that crosses the Sado Estuary. The northern end of Troia has been developed into an exclusive complex with marina, casino and hotels while the south leads to quieter and less developed beaches. The three beaches close to the ferry landing are Praia de Tria Mar, Praia Bico dos Lulas and Praia do Troia Gale while the larger Praia Atlantica covers much of the central coastline of Troia. The beaches are a great place to head as there is always space to be found.Golf: You will find 4 International renowned golf courses in a short distance: Golf do Peru (4km), Aroeira Club, Montado and Troia Golf, the more difcult and beautiful of the four. To reach it, you have to take a ferry in SetĂșbal. And if you are lucky, during the crossing you will see a group of dolphins. The house is located between the castles of Sesimbra, SetĂșbal and Palmela, and the Arrabida convent built in the XVIth century. Any of them worthwhile to visit when you pass by.Lisbon is only approx. 30km away and is a very beautiful and cosmopolitan city. For sure it deserves a couple of visits !ItÂŽs important to have a car to enjoy the entire region, but you have a train station to the heart of Lisbon just 5 km from the house. The outskirts are very safe and peaceful, and there are supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and a hospital nearby. The house is located a 20 minute car trip, from the amazing beaches of ArrĂĄbida, and about 5 minutes away from Orizonte Lisbon Golf (Quinta do PerĂș Golf & Country Club). By car, it takes 20 minutes to arrive to SetĂșbal, and 35 minutes to arrive Lisbon.
