Yes, LAMP is a bit far from city but there are many outdoor activities you can try and very suitable for get-away for stress relief.

we arrived very late and the host was very helpful in coming to the property and accommodate us very quickly even as the weather was pretty bad, location was amazing,

Amazing lake view!

Pros: Our overall experience was very enjoyable.
Cons: We cannot think of anything that needs improvement.
Location: The snow monkeys are about 45 minutes from Lamp - enjoy the scenery of snow-capped mountains and evergreen trees.
During the winter, the view of the lake was amazing from our tatami mat room! We cannot imagine how much more gorgeous the view would be during the summer. We were greeted with a quaint United States countryside type of cabin on the first floor, but once we got upstairs, we were immediately transported back to Japan with tatami mats and Japanese style bedding. We didn't use the provided television or wifi connection because it was nice to just lay back and enjoy the serenity of Lamp.
Restrooms and baths are communal, which added to the authenticity of a lodging experience in Japan. Breakfast was simple yet delicious with homemade jams. We dared not leave without a jar of apple jam.
The staff was very welcoming from the moment of our arrival and spoke enough English to make our stay enjoyable. We woud definitely return to Lamp.

夜ごはんを食べるスペースがあればいいと思いました。それか、もう少し安い一人分のメニューがあると助かります。
