The location was OK. About 10-15 mins walk to MRT. Close to restaurants and shops. We would prefer a bit closer to the City, cleaner surrounding though.
We tried to contact the Hotel 81 via email on many occasions before flying to Singapore without any replies.
After settling into the Hotel, we found out that the bar fridge had no freezer, and asked the staff (evening shift, male staff) whether we could possibly use the staff fridge to freeze a small ice block that's used to keep our medication and eye drops cool on the road. His reply was unfriendly, a straight NO. Other staff are good and helpful.
Communication and attitude are important to customer service. It makes a big different to how people feel about their stay in the hotel and in Singapore.
