Beautiful location and great stay
Publié le 30 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayVery comfortable, amenities were great and the cottage was adjacent to downtown Brookings. Walks along the back and views were spectacular. As a dog friendly stay, this was also a bonus for the entire family to enjoy a nice getaway along the coast.

Minor problems, mostly with security, otherwise fine.

Front lock box was open when we arrived, dead bolt does not work and keys need to be cleaned up along with handle lock. Toilet seat needs to be replaced, pretty gross. Minor things but minor things can make a big difference.

The toilet seat? We will get on that one. As mentioned the WD 40 took care of the salt air affecting the lock. I agree the minor things are important and there are 1000 of them. Thank goodness our customers seem to appreciate our paying attention to the details. Hope you will give us another try as no doubt these items will have disappeared.

Horrible experience

My husband and I are both in public education and I intended to surprise our family with a trip to the coast over spring break... but I inadvertently booked the trip one week too early (when we are still in school and have parent-teacher conferences).
I began trying to remedy the mistake within minutes of making the reservation. This owner is IMPOSSIBLE to work with. He refused to respond to my messages on VRBO, my phone calls, or my text messages. After countless calls/texts and one plea from my husband, he finally responded to my husband's text (not to me, the person who made the reservation). We spent the better part of a week trying to communicate with the owner. He would NEVER answer any of MY calls or messages, and only occasionally responded to my husband. He tried to put the problem off on VRBO, saying that I needed to contact them to solve the problem (VRBO clearly stated that the issue was out of their hands) ... he even lied about my efforts to resolve the issue within the "make modifications to reservation" timeframe.
I am fully aware that this all started with a mistake I made. But please beware before booking. If you have an issue, this owner is IMPOSSIBLE to communicate with, concerned with HIS profits only, and has literally ZERO empathy or concern for anyone other than himself.
Our family is out a considerable amount of money, and he is that much richer, for doing absolutely nothing.

This is factually false slander. VRBO verified the facts. Her issue was not cancelling with VRBO per their policy prior to our acceptance of her reservation. Once notified and after passing on others desirous of her dates I continued to offer her a credit even after her historical behavior. Do not rent to this woman. Her husband btw, was totally reasonable and understood fully the whole situation. I never before had such an unpleasant experience with a prospective guest and know the credit solution was/is more than fair as is not even required given her negligence.

Beautiful View
Publié le 21 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayAbsolutely stunning and gorgeous views of the ocean and beach. Hot tub over looks ocean and at night you can enjoy while listening to the crashing of the ocean waves and a glass of wine. Beautiful.

Lovely stay at the beach
Publié le 22 févr. 2024 sur HomeAwayVery comfortable stay, amazing views of the ocean and beach. Place is showing some signs of wear but was very clean and well appointed - kitchen had all we needed. Hot tub was wonderful. The only thing I would really like to have changed was that one of the double-glazed windows in the sliding glass door that gives the view over the beach has failed and has condensation between the two layers of glass, obscuring the view somewhat. In spite of this, would rent again!

Thank you for pointing out these items. I wish you had called me as the hot tub tech said you must have been pushing the wrong button and only charged me for a service call. We will jump on that window issue a previous guest must have disguised. We can't fit more utensils in the drawers and the set of plates in the below cup hard is still there. Sorry about your experience and you have a 50.00 credit for not being able to work the jets but please call me if there is an issue.

A lovely stay

So glad we met your expectations. We think White Rock is by far the best resort to stay in SO OR. We aim to be the best cabin to stay at White Rock Resort.
We start with a geographic advantage. So close to the beach path and uniquely we enjoy privacy from that path.

Great place to stay
Publié le 13 nov. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis is such a great place to stay. Was very clean and the location was beautiful. The tiny house was cute and had all the amenities we needed, with the exception of a washer and dryer. If you’re looking for a place to stay on the ocean I highly recommend it.
