Staff went out of their way to make sure we were checked in, settled in and comfortable. We had a room by the back garden and loved the peaceful area they created. The room was spotless and refreshed with whatever we needed. We’ll be back for sure.

We’ve stayed here previously when it was The M and had a good experience so we were excited to check it out with the remodel/rebrand. We loved how clean and modern everything in the room looks since the remodel while still keeping a lot of the old charm like the stained glass in the bathroom and the carved wooden doors. The bed was very comfortable and we also loved that the rooms had both a fridge, freezer and microwave and the AC was nice and cool because the temperatures got surprisingly high during our winter stay. The back gardens and front courtyard are so pretty and peaceful and it’s a quick walk into town while being removed enough that it’s nice and quiet. The only slightly iffy thing was we had one of the garden rooms and the back door to the garden is located in the bathroom with a window and the way the shade is positioned even when closed people from the garden can definitely see in if someone is on the toilet.

It can be tricky trying to find a lux room in Solvang. While the Marlo isnt the epitome of high-end, the room has a nice finish and plenty of space for me and my significant other. It was very quiet and cozy and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway.

A pleasant surprise, quaint, quiet and terrific find. My wife and love our Solvang get aways coming from Ventura County. We stumbled across The Marlo because we wanted to stay somewhere different. The Marlo is tucked away on Alisol Road but well worth checking out. The rooms are boutique in nature and the staff is welcoming. I'd highly encourage those who are willing to step out of what they know in Solvang and check out The Marlo.

I found several bugs in the room during the stay. I woke up to find a cockroach running across the bed. When I notified the front desk, they claim it’s never happened before and I would be given a discount. I was then ignored and never followed up with. I didn’t even care about a discount until they mentioned it and didn’t fulfill it. I find it unlikely another guest hasn’t experienced this so I wanted to leave a review so they cannot claim this has never happened to the next person that says it

Everything was perfect! Very clean, pet friendly, nice courtyard, very quiet, and walking distance to everything. Just a heads up if you are going check in late, they won’t send you the code and self check in instructions until after they close through text. They were kind of hard to get a hold of by phone when I initially called for self check in instructions which made me anxious but once I found out you can text them it was a lot easier. They text you often and check in to see if you need anything and respond much quicker through text. I highly recommend booking your stay here. I have already recommended this place to coworkers and friends!

This is a cute affordable hotel. It is has updated decor and was comfortable. The beds and pillows are comfortable. It was nice having a little refrigerator. We enjoyed the location. We were able to walk through the town of Solvang. Cute restaurants, bakeries and tasting rooms if you drink wine It is not the most luxurious or high end hotel but definitely cute for a long weekend. The only negative was the shower water pressure. They would service the room if you asked them to. I would stay at the Marlo again, most likely.
