Great little getaway
Posted Jan. 31, 2024 on HotelsCons: Didn't realize we booked a room in the mansion. The room was old and felt stuffy. The bathroom leaked and the toilet had a huge crack. There also isn't an elevator to the floor seeing that I did request handicap amenities this was a problem.
Pros: We only stay at this hotel when we visit South Boston. As far as staying in the mansion we were transferred to the hotel and everything was good. I know now to make sure we are in the hotel part only. The Tavern restaurant was very good and service was excellent.This was the first time we visited the restaurant.
Overall: The estate is nice and for me, I wouldn't stay in the mansion. I prefer the hotel and its more modern amenities.

Im from this area but had never experienced staying at the mansion. It has been a much needed little getaway from home. Very relaxing atmosphere.

The room was full of lady bugs. And the tv channel selection was difficult to mange. I could not get any local channels or ESPN - CNN etc.

The resort was very well kept. Parking is far from the actual hotel part. Room was nice. Bed was wonderful. I will stay again.
