No toiletries, didn’t feel safe, it’s in a corner of the town that is hidden and hard to find. It was sketchy. There’s a net on the roof of the bathroom so anyone can come see inside from above; no privacy. People can see inside through the curtains. The staff were nice. Definitely not worth it for the price!!!

The name of the hotel is Escondite, which means 'The Hideout'. We are happy that the name is appropriate. However, we are located in the Colombo metropolis, 400m from the Parliament of Sri Lanka.The Standard Double Room is exactly what is depicted in the photos and there is no change whatsoever. The shower area is open to sky. However, there is adequate privacy and no one can see into it.This is the first comment we received about the curtains, and we will certainly look into it.

Stay at Villa Escondite

Oasis in the City Jungle

Pour : Good service. Great ambiance.
Contre : Had to borrow the Kettle from the Kitchen - one in the room would be good.
Emplacement : Not much that attracted us close by, easy transport into Colombo CBD, pretty close to Immigration office if you need to renew your visa.
Arrived at 0300hr in the Morning and wondered what on earth we had got ourselves into, but after a few hours sleep and getting up to beautiful sunlight in the morning it turned out to be an Oasis in the middle of the City.
The Pool and breakfast area were very nice, and although the room wasn't quite as nice as the photo, it was fine.
What the photos don't capture is the Tranquility of the place, although its is pretty much downtown Colombo you feel as though you are out in the country someplace, and the heavy humidity and muffled echos of the kids away over the field playing cricket give it a wonderful air of calm.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and a special thanks to Deepal, who couldn't have done more for us.
We were there for 3 days and liked it more each day.
