For an aged property the facilities were good. Electrical outlets should be replaced and add additional outlets to avoid overloading circuits. Location of the property is excellent. Overall property is a good value but is showing age in plumbing and electrical.
Excellent Family Get-together on St. George Island
The Bell beach house was perfect for us because one of our family members is elderly and has mobility issues. This property didn't have stairs, and was right on the beach. It was very clean and had everything we needed for a pleasant few days on the island and visiting Apalachicola. Loved the rustic interior and old Florida feel!
Will start at the beginning...on entering the house there was a very musty odor. This is most likely age and lack of updates to the house. There was trash (dirty sanitary napkins) in a bathroom garbage can. There appeared to be a puppy puddles in the master bedroom carpet. We were under the impression this was a no pet property. The main TV in the living room was not working. The internet was also not functioning. The property manager brought a hot box that also was dropping connection. On our third day a supervisor with the cable/internet provider came and he also could not repair the many issues with the internet or main TV. He offered to come back the next day, however we were ready to leave early so we told him talk to the property managers to relay all of the issues so the next guest would not be without TV and internet. To be fair the property manager attempted to fix the issues prior to calling the internet/cable company however she was not a technician and could not fix the issues. By the time the supervisor for Media Com came, we already were pretty fed up. No TV, no streaming, musty smell, absolutely the home was totally out of date. The kitchen cabinets reeked of odor so we did not use many of the dishes. Again, this was the age of the house without any updates. The location is great and is right on the beach but other than that, its not an appealing or functioning property. We left a day early.
