Welcome to Sugarpine Chalet, your ideal Lake Tahoe getaway, perfectly located between Tahoe City and Dollar Point. This spacious 4-bedroom (plus a loft) dog friendly retreat comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests. With its stunning cathedral ceilings, landscaped fenced backyard, and hot tub offers a cozy yet luxurious escape. This pet-friendly home is just a short stroll from Skylandia Park and Beach, where you'll find a welcoming spot for both you and your furry friends, complete with a pet-friendly beach and scenic picnic areas. The property also includes parking for up to five cars—three in the driveway and two under the carport—ensuring ample space for your group. Sugarpine Chalet is designed for unforgettable family vacations or group adventures.

All vehicles must be parked in the driveway and/or garage at all times. Guest must agree to read and comply with Placer County's Good Neighbor Policies.

County Rules
As part of the Short-Term Rental Permit for this home, the county asks that we share the important rules and regulations with you. We appreciate your cooperation in following the guidelines listed below, also included in your signed Vacation Rental Agreement.

Maximum Occupancy: There shall be no gatherings, events, weddings or other group functions on the Premises with more people than the number of persons stated on the Agreement.

Parking: Parking on the street is prohibited at all times. All cars, boats, and trailers must be parked in the garage and/or driveway.

Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are 9pm-8am, seven days a week. Per the County: No sound may be audible from the property line during quiet hours. Amplified sound (such as speakers) shall not be used outside or be audible from the parcel line of any short-term rental at any time.

Lights Out: All exterior lights must be turned off that are not needed for safety or other outdoor use to the extent that such other outdoor use is not an unreasonable nuisance to neighbors at night.

Red Flag Warnings: Due to high risk of wildfire in our area, bonfires, charcoal barbecues, and wood-burning fire pits are always prohibited. On designated Red Flag Warning Days—when fire danger is especially severe due to dry conditions and high winds—all outdoor fires are prohibited, including gas grills and gas fire pits. These restrictions come directly from the North Tahoe Fire Protection District and must be followed for everyone's safety. It is each guest's responsibility to stay informed about Red Flag Warnings. They are announced on local news, radio, and social media, and you'll also see signs posted at fire stations throughout the area.

Winter Driving: Many highways, access roads, and driveways in the Tahoe area can become icy during the winter. For your safety, it's essential that between November 1st and April 30th your vehicle is winter-ready. Make sure brakes, windshield wipers, defroster, heater, and exhaust system are in top condition. Tires should be properly inflated with excellent tread, and you should always carry tire chains—even if you have an AWD/4WD vehicle. Double-check that your chains fit your tires and are in good working order. On many state highways and county roads, four-wheel drive and snow tires are required for safe travel.
Please be prepared for winter conditions: dress appropriately, stay in bounds at ski resorts and if you get lost, remain in place.

Garbage & Bears: Please do not feed the bears. Black bears are very common in this area and, over time, many have become used to human food and trash. Because they no longer have a natural fear of people, you may see them during your spring, summer, or fall stay. Feeding bears is illegal, and leaving food outside, trash unsecured, or doors and windows unlocked can lead to serious property damage to both homes and vehicles. To help prevent this, all waste must be placed in bear-proof bins or dumpsters and the latches secured. Placer County sorts recycling from the waste for you at our materials recovery facilities.

Office Holiday Hours
The TTVR office is closed on New Year's Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Therefore, we are unable to accommodate check-ins and check-outs on these dates. Thank you for understanding.

Fantastic winter stay!

This is a fantastic well appointed home located just outside of Tahoe City. The neighborhood is quiet and easily accessible. The home is updated, warm, and welcoming. It was a perfect spot for 2 families with a fenced in backyard, grill, and hot tub.There was plenty of space for everyone to have their own space in private areas and also in the common spaces as well. When we ran into a small issue, the responsiveness and helpfulness were quick and thorough. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Great home!!

This house was very well laid out and the space was used creatively and effectively. It was comfortable with ample seating accommodations inside and outside. The house isn’t huge but most of the rooms are spaced out well enough to make the home feel larger than it is. The backyard was beautifully landscaped and the furnishings were perfect for a larger number of guests. The hot tub isn’t a bad touch either. Very enjoyable after a swim in the lake. Overall this was a great home. And being only about a 7 minute walk to a nice small beach area, I’d absolutely stay here again.

This home was very cozy and comfortable for family members who joined our trip -- great walking trails nearby in forest, by beach, short drive away from city. Great for a ski trip

Booked this house for a ski trip with a group of friends and had the best time. The house was very clean when we arrived and had everything we needed. Loved that they had a binder with all of the instructions printed out for everyone in my group to refer to. One of the toilets was leaking at the bottom but they sent someone right away to fix it once I notified them. Would absolutely stay here again.

We had such a great time. A couple of issues came up like my mother-in-law needed a heater because she was a little bit cold, and they found one for us and delivered it right away. Everything in the kitchen is well appointed. And the house is laid out very nicely. The place could not have been better for us.

Great location, great property

Everything about the property was first-class - the house was decorated for the holidays, everything was well-documented and clean, and the kitchen was well-stocked with everything needed to keep a family of nine well-fed! Lovely back yard, the hot tub was a real treat. Just can't say enough good things about it - and the towns nearby had great shopping and entertainment! Great family house

The House was great for our whole family with lots of Bedrooms, Bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, Parking, lots of amenities and a big hot tub. Convenient location near resorts & town. We would gladly stay here again.

Family ski retreat

Very spacious home, well-stocked kitchen, gas fireplace, well-maintained hot tub. Beds were comfortable with plenty of blankets and linens. Bathrooms were clean and nice. Great rental home and rental company was very engaged. Would definitely come back!

Great stay!

Really easy to communicate with the property management who were super helpful, kind and understanding with a giant snow storm coming, letting us check in early and offering a discount on an extra night. Great central location.
