Stayed here as a family of 5 - 2 adults and 3 kids (10, 6, 4) Good size room, clean, washing machine in room was very handy. Reception staff very helpful. We had driven and there was only about 6 parks on site which were all booked out so they suggested another parking station near by. It was about a 4min walk and cost max 600yen every 24hrs which was cheaper then the hotel parking but you couldn't leave and come as you pleased with that parking unless you wanted to pay again. Suited us though. Across the road is a 7/11. Was about a 15min walk to the shopping district.

The room is spacious and well-equipped, but the hygiene is questionable. As the hotel is still pretty new the condition isn't bad. Although we didn't use it, it's really nice that the rooms come with a washer dryer combo unit, plus the bathroom has its own clothes line and a heating setting for drying clothes on the line. Our room unfortunately had a number of hairs on the beds, a bunch of stray lint in the bathroom, and couple suspicious brown stains on the carpet in front of the toilet. I also woke up to a stink bug crawling up my leg under the covers. Because of these it really made us doubt the actual hygiene of the rooms which left us feeling uncomfortable.

Hotel was very clean and the rooms are quite large with great amenities (kitchenette, washer/drier). Staff were very nice and checkin was easy. Property is starting to show a bit of wear - nothing major but noticeable. Very limited parking at the hotel so reserve in advance if you need it - otherwise, nearest parking is about a 5 minute walk. It was a bit of a walk to the sights and most restaurants but totally doable (about 15-20 minutes).

Recently stayed for 3 nights. Not a bad walk from train station. 7/11 over the road and a shirt 10 min walk to Starbucks and ten pin bowling was a bonus. Room was clean, accommodating. Probably lacked a personal touch as on a few occasions the front desk wasn’t manned either coming or going from hotel. Check in process a little long but not too bad. Would stay again

My favorite stay was at HIDATAKAYAMA! This hotel was amazing — it felt like they really cater to picky travelers. The room was spacious, super clean, and thoughtfully designed, making it incredibly comfortable. Everything you could need was provided, making the whole experience seamless. Highly recommend!

Loved the loft!!

We absolutely loved this hotel which was a rare treat for our family of 5. The kids loved the very stylish and super comfortable loft / bunk bed. The amenities were wonderful and it was just a short walk away from the train station and the town

After staying over two weeks in Japan and in seven different hotels/ryokans, this was, by far our least favorite. This is a no frills westernized hotel that is probably good for families. Check in was fine- the staff person walked us through the self check in. Our room smelled terribly of mildew- probably from the washing machine. The sofa was tattered and the room felt 'worn'. There was no water or coffee offered in the room. The desk was frequently unattended and there was no one there regularly between 10:00pm - 8:00am so no one to speak with if you're an early riser. It was a very loud hotel-you could hear everyone in the hallway- this was the first time we used our noise machine during our trip. We didn't realize how far out of the old town of Takayama this was- our mistake, so we walked a lot (this was not a problem for us, but if you want to be near stores and restaurant, this isn't the place for you).

The room was ok - beds were comfortable and bedding fine. Seating area was bit grubby and some covers were torn. Main problem was the noise level from people in the corridor and rooms above. We'd not experienced this problem in previous Japanese hotels and it was a real pain!

We stayed in the family suite. The design was well thought out and the beds were comfortable. The location was across the street from a 7 Eleven which was super convenient. There is a ramen place next door. It is a close walk to the bus station and you can walk from the hotel into town. Overall it was a really pleasant stay for a family of 5.

We had an amazing stay at Fav Hidatakayama during our recent trip! 🌟 What stood out the most was the spaciousness of the room, which made it perfect for our family. The cleanliness was impeccable, and we truly appreciated the thoughtful inclusion of a small kitchen. It allowed us to prepare quick meals and added so much convenience to our stay. The bunk beds were a huge hit with the kids—they absolutely loved them! It made the room feel cozy yet fun, and it was a unique touch that set this hotel apart. Overall, the combination of excellent amenities, a family-friendly setup, and a clean, comfortable space made our stay truly memorable. The hotel is comfortable, clean and close the station. 10 minute walk to the town. Our room was spacious and had a safe, microwave, hob, fridge-freezer and a washing machine. There was a separate toilet, and wet room. There is a 7 11 across the road. The hotel has a public onsen that good. Good value for money
