During the past 3 or 4 years since my previous stay in the hotel, its condition and overall service have deteriorated substantially. When we checked in, several things were not working properly: the AC, TV, some appliances, etc. so that we had to endure the workers who were called in to fix them, For a double occupancy room, only one glass (for drinks) and hand towel had bee provided initially. The quality of food was not up to the mark, and breakfast wasn’t available until 7:30. Overall, not satisfactory experience.

Expedia DECEIVED ME BY SHOWING BREAKFAST IN SEARCH NOT INCLUDED while booking. Terrible. Me or my family including my wife, children and their spouse WILL NOT USE Expedia again, unless you reach out and correct the situation

Decent stay in a small town, can be better

Thrissur is a smallish town with no 4 or 5 star hotel. In such a place Joy’s Palace is a decent option for short stay. I was here for work trip and first thought of booking Suite room for some working with team and better comfort. But the suite room was not upto expectations, its just 2 normal rooms connected with a door and one room converted into living room with dining table and sofa, the tv is huge though the remote was not easy to use and very limited channels anyways. I requested for a change to a superior room, which took some back and forth as I had booked online. The attitude of hotel staff in that matter could have been more friendly while dealing with this matter. The superior room was better than suite room bedroom, probably because suite is not used much hence not maintained. Food is very average, breakfast pretty standard, doesnt change much except one dish. Location is next to the big bus depot and wholesale veg market, not much to do anyways, you would need to take an auto/uber to go anywhere, but thrissur is a small town, so not a big problem. Also we were not allowed early check-in as we reached at 10, for business travelers many hotels do allow as they just need to freshen up and leave for work to come back in evening, but we just had to leave our bags and come back to the room in evening.

Poor hotel experience

Starting with good points staff is friendly but lacks training to handle customers. There were several customers frustrated by way things are handled. Upon checkin room visit revealed dirty bed sheets and blankets on the underside which they changed upon request. I had major problem during checkout as they did not arrange taxi requested previous night for airport which resulted in flight miss. The hotel manager's excuse was that we did not confirm booking. Not sure what confirmation they expected uf I called at night and asked for taxi and also requested wake up call.Also requested early breakfast to be able to get to airport which did not happen. Then called front desk sating checkout and need luggage transport. Bell boy showed up without trolley and then saw bags and went back to get it. Also front desk suggested 1 hr for airport. But their provided taxi finally when showed up late also took 2 hours. No attempt to rectify situation was made but hotel manage kept covering up for staff incompetency. No way is star-rated hotel environment. i still tipped every staff heavily since I believe in integrity more than money.

Best hotel in the area.

Pour : Very appealing area in the middle of the town, but still secluded from all noisy surroundings.
Contre : Guests in other rooms were noisy, especially with the frequent opening and closing of the doors in the night. Improved door mechanisms may help.
Emplacement : Right next to the bus stand, very close to the Railway Station, and not too far from the Airport. Conveniently located for any activity in town.
We had occasion to see a few other hotels in the district where our friends and other family members stayed in connection with a wedding. Nothing could be compared to this one. We were able to host a number of our friends for dinner at this hotel, and everyone was pleased. The hotel manager and the staff were very attentive and cordial in ensuring our satisfaction. We were allowed to check out a little late because of our flight timing.
