The place is great, very calm, with spectacular view of campaing of Tuscany and Montepulciano. There is two balconies to enjoy the view and sunset with nice cats around the house. There is also a nice garden for the children to play. The host Michelle is wonderful; she accepted to prolonge the stay for my family last minute after I was hospitalised during the trip. The housekeeper Gabriella is also very nice and gave us great tips at our arrival.
Beautiful home about a 15 minute walk from Montefollonicoâs center. Montefollonico has a small grocery store that sells wonderful pizzas that you can order on Wednesdays and Fridays. The home was the perfect location for my family (including 2 small children). We enjoyed evenings by the wood burning fireplace in the kitchen (there are two fireplaces in the home) playing cards after cooking dinner in a well equipped kitchen. We fell in love with the cats, who are incredibly friendly and greeted us every time we were outside. Michele was very kind and communicative throughout our stay. Gabriella and her daughter, who met us upon arrival and showed us the home, were both wonderful. You are responsible for paying utilities in cash at the time of departure (in addition to the visitorsâ tax). Utilities cost us about 125 for 7 nights during a cold stretch. Michele had wood for us to use to help warm the home and offset the cost though. A truly great stay in a wonderful location with amazing people.
We have stayed at Mulinello a number of times and enjoyed it again. Our property host was very attentive and welcoming, and she answered our needs with enthusiasm. The house is at the end of a remote road, but the view and quiet are the reasons for returning. Montefollonico and 13 Gobbi restaurant are close by and a great place to eat and enjoy our host Albo. Overall, we recommend this to anyone and 4 persons can enjoy it together. Thanks, Michelle and Gabriella. Jim and Lynne
Authentic farmbouse with stunning Tuscany views. Peaceful beautiful region of Tuscany. Montefollonico had a decent small friendly grocery store and pharmacy is a short drive away. There are lots of towels and blankets. It was cold upon arrival and took a while to warm up the house as the heat was off likely for a few days at least. There is a charge for heat and hydro and the caretaker actually comes back out to read the meters and inspect the house. This was a bit of surprise and had never encountered this before. We were able to do laundry and dry it in the sun which was wonderful. The kitchen is well equiped but refrigerator is small and only holds a day or two of fresh food. You need to shop almost daily or every other day if more than 2 people. But that is the Italian way and saves on over buying and waste. Gabriella met us in town and we followed her to the farmhouse. She was a nice lady but spoke no English and we speak next to no Italian so it made it impossible to know what she wanted to tell us. I had spoken briefly to the owner by whatsup call and he spoke Enflish so felt we would just try to figure it out and call the owners if we had questions. We managed without help. We loved the quaint house and lots of outdoor chairs to gaze at the amazing views. Shady and sunny viewing areas. Beds were comfy, bathrooms clean and everything worked well. We are so glad we stayed here for 4 days. Wish we had stayed another day or two. It was a wonderful stay.
Nice getaway, beautiful view from yard, close to all of Tuscany
We had an excellent stay! We loved the house, the cats, and the beautiful views! We spent maybe wonderful evenings cooking pasta and drinking wine in the yard. The only downside was the house was a bit farther than walking distance (which may be what youâre looking for!) and the road was pretty bumpy and dusty. We had a great time and would love to return!
Villa Mulinello is the perfect Tuscany Villa. It is located 5 minutes from the very quiet town of Montefollonico in a very private and beautiful setting. From the house and the yard on each side of the house you have a picture post card view of the valley of Montepulciano (vineyards orchards, woodlands) with an unobstructed view of Montepulicano. The house is large, comfortable and very clean. The Hosts are most gracious and helpful. You are close to all the Tuscany hilltop cites which you can visit each day and come home to a quiet serene lovely villa at night. I would definitely stay here again.
This house was ideal for me. It is a beautiful house with even more amenities than I required, in an area of spectacular beauty and peace. At night all I could hear was the wind, and the owls. I have been going to Italy almost every year for the past 25, staying in different regions, and my two week stay at Mulinello was one of the best, if not the best. The owners and the housekeeper are gracious and kind and attentive. I adored the lovely cats. Thank you, Michele, Christina and Gabriella, you are the best. I hope to return again with a more reliable macchina.
This was the perfect place to stay in one of the most beautiful places in the world. I originally thought my husband and I would take day trips, but we never went farther than a 20-minute drive away, electing instead to simply walk to nearby Montefollonico and Montepulciano, run on the local roads, and most often, just hang out at the villa. It was so peaceful just to pull up lawn chairs on the front lawn, enjoy the views and use our binoculars to spot occasional wildlife in the valley below. The views are spectacular, both inside and out! I fell in love with the villa itself - so warm, charming and well appointed with more than enough kitchen supplies to cook up a simple dinner (inspired by the cooking class I took). The host and caretaker were so friendly and helpful, and we loved the very friendly cats!
My wife and I stayed at this property during our honeymoon and we enjoyed every minute of it. The home is warm and rustic and is in a very quiet area away from the center of Montefollocino and has sweeping views all the way to Montepulciano. We had coffee on the deck / porch and listened to the birds and enjoyed the warmth of the fireplace every evening. The owner was very accessible and helpful.
Just a word of caution for those who are not quite as mobile as we are. Parking is away from the house and up a fairly steep gravel hill and it is a very dark walk to the car after dark.
The country house was perfect for our two week stay in Tuscany. It was quaint and cute on the inside and the view from the backyard with Montepulciano and the Tuscan hills was stunning. Seeing the sunrise every morning was like a scene from a movie! We really enjoyed our stay and the friendly cats were so much fun to have around! The location was great with convenient access to Montefollonico for grocery runs/ restaurants as well as close enough to take many side trips to nearby Tuscan towns. I will definitely return to stay on my next trip to Tuscany and will be recommending it to everyone!
The house is very lovingly furnished and is located in the middle of nature with a breathtaking view on a typical tuscan hilly landscape. Thanks to the great environment, our children always had something to discover and took care of the 5 cats outside the house while we could just relax. Thanks to the heartfelt hospitality by the landlord and their very nice staff we lacked nothing.
All in all it was a great holiday with the "dolce vita" feeling.
We were on a girls trip and stayed in this beautiful home for 5 days. The town is so cute and everyone very friendly. Michela & Pamela were very helpful (especially when we arrived late due to flight delays). Michela also helped us with a dental emergency and booked an appointment for us. The Wi-Fi worked well once we figured out it was unplugged. Would like to return again some day.
Absolutely amazing villa with the most breathtaking views! The location is at the end of a dirt road so you are guaranteed privacy. There were certain days where we just did not want to leave the villa as everything that we wanted was already here. The villa is extremely well located, close to all the hillside towns that you need to see. It is also very well equipped and very tastefully furnished. Michele, the owner was very responsive and very friendly, calling us to make sure that everything was going good. We will definitely com back again.
We loved our stay at Capanne. We stayed for 5 nights and were awestruck every morning by the view out of every window. The house is down a long dirt road and very secluded and quiet, surrounded by olive trees and with spectacular views to Montelpuciano. At the same time, it is an easy drive to Montelpuciano, Pienza and other hilltowns. We wish we could have stayed longer!
The town of Montefollonico is a nice long walk or a short drive away. I lovely little walled hill town with a couple of very nice restaurants and a grocery store, as well as a ceramic store. We had dinner out twice and both meals were fantastic.
The house itself is lovely and full of character. Very lovingly furnished and maintained. The housekeeper is very helpful with the check in and stopped by every day. The owner, MIchele, checked in on us several times, including the day we arrived and made sure that we had dinner reservations in town that night. He also was very responsive when we lost power one night. He and his family made us feel very welcome, even inviting us to join them for dinner when we were in Rome a week after our stay at Le Capanne.
The house is well-equipped with updated baths and a lovely small kitchen, that is very manageable for cooking dinners. As the house is in the country, there are some bugs around, esp. ladybugs, but that added to the charm of the home.
We would highly recommend Le Capanne for anyone who wants a quiet, tranquil stay in the heart of Tuscany. We hope we can visit again someday!
