staff try their best to speak english to foreigners with fully service-mind. Suggest to visit for 2nights if you are onsen lover

Perfect stay in kinosaki onsen. Free pass to all 7 public baths. Super traditional and quite a blast from the past. Everything is very old school and charming, with the exception of the toilet (brand new as Japan does).

Quaint, traditonal ryokan in the heart of it all

Posted Jan. 10, 2020 on Hotels
Great ryokan in the heart of Kinosakionsen. We stayed in a standard room with no breakfast or dinner. The ryokan has a private onsen, a female public bath, and a male public bath. The male bath is small but nice. You get a pass to go to all the onsens in town for free, and your own pair of yukata, geta, jacket, and a second jacket for cold weather. The service is excellent, though speaking a little japanese will go a long way. Before 430pm there is fluent English speaking staff, but at night there is nobody that speaks English. The rooms are clean, traditional, and quiet. Very fun to spend time on tatami mats and sleep on the floor in futons. At night, you fall asleep to the click-clop of geta on old streets and the laughter of friends and family warm from the onsen. It is really a step back in time, and every minute was a joy.

Great way to enjoy the onsens!

Posted Dec. 15, 2019 on Hotels
We stayed for 2 nights in early December. The ryokan gave us warm yakatas and everything we needed to walk around the town comfortably at this time of year to visit the onsens (big umbrellas, handbags for towels). The crab feast was quite an experience as we grilled crab over hot coals and made soup. Maybe worth the money if you're a big fan of crab. Breakfast was amazing, many small delicious dishes that changed each day. We were welcomed in English (much appreciated) and other staff were friendly and adept at patiently explaining Japanese customs to newbies. The ryokan is very close to everything - less than 10 minutes walk to the train station, right on the river and a short walk to restaurants, onsens and the ropeway. Self-serve laundry a great bonus. Totally enjoyed our stay!

Central location. Ideal for visiiting onsens. Breakfast lacking in variety.

This property was very central to Kinosaki, and a great starting point for exploring restaurants and shopping. Also within walking distance of most Onsens.
