Charming Cabin in the Mountains
Posted Mar. 21, 2024 on HomeAwayThis Cabin was perfect for my family's weekend ski trip to Dodge Ridge.
My daughter loved the bunkbed and the whole house was cozy.
The Cabin had a smart TV and the kids were able to stream their favorite shows.
The location was very great, Twain Hart has a cute little downtown area a few minutes from the cabin where I was able to get anything I needed.
The check-in/out process was seamless and I had no issues with my stay.

Amazing cabin, great location
Posted Feb. 20, 2024 on HomeAwayThe place felt retro and modern at same time. Great location. Clean, fully stocked, owner very responsive to all questions I had before arrival and during my stay. Lots of books and games for kids. Def will book again.

Weekend stay

Power went out midnight first night,came back on in the morning
Couldn't get TV to work.
We just rotated from Ed's to The Epp to the Pro Shop to cover the down time. We had a good time.
Forgot the potato salad and salsa and beets in frig. They are enclosed and in frig on the door. Would stay again, but the neat freak wife's would not enjoy, hence four guys

End of Summer
Posted Sep. 7, 2023 on HomeAwayThis was a great place to gather with family, have quality time together, and laugh. This is a cabin in the mountains with plenty of nature and peacefulness. The house was fully stocked, and the host responded to calls/texts. Just bring your loved ones, clothes, and food. Downtown Twain Harte is a short walk and, has shops, a creamery, dining, coffee houses, etc. We hope to return to Dandelion's Lair, and highly recommed it.

Perfect cabin near the lake
Posted Sep. 3, 2023 on HomeAwayWe had a great stay in Dandelion's Lair. It was our families first stay in Twain Harte and it was in the perfect location. A very short drive to both restaurants and ice cream in downtown Twain Harte and the Twain Harte lake. Dandelion's Lair is a classic cabin getaway with everything you need to get away and feel like you are in the mountains. It might not be the most updated or modern house, but it was clean with good supplies and lots of board games for the kids- just what we were looking for. Plus we saw deer multiple times walking through the backyard!

Twain Harte gem
Posted Aug. 22, 2023 on HomeAwayIt’s very comfortable and cozy. Mike was very responsive during our stay. Access to the lake was frosting on the cake. Driveway was a challenge but easy once we learned the trick.
Would love to return.

Dandelions lair
Posted Aug. 9, 2023 on HomeAwayThe floors (kitchen and bath) were filthy. Deck has not been swept in months. Only one bedroom had a closet. It’s was spacious and kitchen was well equipped.

Kathy, I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience. I am surprised at the floors being dirty, when we talked on the phone the issue was the bbq hadn't been cleaned. Thank you for communicating to us that the commode and faucet were working, there were concerns per the previous guest. Two of the 3 bedrooms have closets, the master has 2, and the Bunkroom has a good sized closet. The 3rd bedroom only has shelves and hooks, apologies. The decks had been swept within months, and many more times since your stay and comment, thank you for staying.

Unfit for a rental
Posted Aug. 3, 2023 on HomeAwayAfter 10 minutes of our arrival we left and never went back. Walking up to the house it was covered in cob webs and the deck hasn’t been swept since last fall at least. The inside of the house was even worse. There were cob webs on Christmas tree and on the wreath and most corners of the house. The carpet was u raveling and filthy. None of the five beds were made. Just had folded sheets on top. Old food was in fridge and faucet was not attached to sink. I literally could pick it off the sink. And the sponge was very old and used. In the manual it says to just put sponge in dishwasher when you leave so I don’t know how many guests have used it. Completely unsanitary.
It was the worst rental I have ever been in and I would like my $600 refunded.

Jennifer, we strive for a 5 star experience, we are so sorry you didn't get that. The quaint cabin is located in an Oak and Cedar forest, leaves drop all the time, and yes, the decks have been swept many times since last fall. The cabin was cleaned for you, professionally, that morning, there were no cobwebs inside. As for outside, we share the space with the forest, including insects and spiders, raccoons, deer and possums, squirrels, stellar jays and feral cats. The sheets are folded on the bed for you to make your bed ensuring that you know the sheets are clean. This is a policy of ours from Covid, I sense you disagree with. As for the sponge, if you didn't like it, just throw it away and pick a clean one out of the cabinet. I'm sorry, you want a refund because you didn't like our decorations? "I don't like your antique shop vibe" per your voicemail 18 hours after check in. You booked it, within a week of staying, at high summer season, based on the photos which accurately show the 1960's built cabin, with speckled pine board, furniture and decorations. You saw the pictures, right? My cleaners and I disagree with your comment of unsanitary conditions. Refunds have been given in the past for wildfire, smoke, snow storms, snow storms with power outages, trees blocking the road, guest getting in an accident in another state, scheduling mishaps. Not liking the decorations does not qualify you for a refund.
