A two day break.
Publié le 15 févr. 2024 sur HotelsI booked late so the restaurant was fully booked but they made space for me in the conservatory. The staff could not be kinder or more helpful. The food is outstanding. I always look forward to returning.

Very comfortable hotel which has elegant gentility which we hope is preserved by the future owners. The staff were efficient and friendly. Enjoyed our stay so would thoroughly recommend this hotel

Avoid if you can
Publié le 15 sept. 2023 sur HotelsAvoid room 17 and presumably a few more rooms affected by the presence of the kitchen extractor fan just outside their windows. I didn't mind the pretty awful view on the back of the hotel but this extractor fan came on every morning at 7:00 and wasn't turned on until they had finished the dinner service at night. Not much chance to get any sleep when it's on. Very unsympathetic response when I asked to be moved, clearly used to people complaining and as they were apparently full nothing they could do. Overall the hotel looks tired and in need of a complete refit. Food was quite disappointing too, breakfast very average, dinner not up to much and service erratic. Shame that such a lovely building in such a nice setting is being let down by a lack of investment and uncaring staff. Not that many alternatives in Ventnor so I feel they're just not interested in trying any harder.

The property was gorgeous. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was located a short walk from the ocean and from the town. Staying at The Royal Hotel was a pleasurable experience that made my time on Isle of Wight exceptional.
