I have stayed here plenty of times before. But this time was horrible. There was roaches and spider webs in the rooms. The tv wasnt working and the ac was super low to the point you had to pull pff the mattress on to the floor and sleep.

Convenient location especially for the price. Very nice surrounding neighborhood and easy to walk everywhere. No cleanliness at all...First room i was given the shower continously ran, not dripped but running and there was visable mold on the shower curtian and wall from it. The desk was more.than accommodating in changing rooms however the second room had trash in room cabinets, used shampoo bottle and hair left in shower, pretty sure one of the towels had already been used.

My partner and i stayed here during our trip to virginia beach. I feel like you could find something within this price range that’s better. The hotel definitely was not deep cleaned and there was no housekeeping. Towels were dirty upon arrival, bathroom had mold/sand everywhere, there was sticky dirt on the handles of the dressers, it had a foul smell for it being a non-smoking room and most importantly roaches. The only good thing was the staff because of how respectful and accommodating they are. I just want to be transparent in case anybody was looking to stay here because it’s honestly not the best idea. I unfortunately will not be recommending or staying here again.

Asked for non smoking room. The room smelled really bad of smoke, bathtub was filthy,mold in the bathroom, dirty towels in the room and cigarette burns in the bedding. Refund requested, the room smelled so bad we could not stay!!!! The staff would not issue a refund, Expedia is helping to get one

The only positive thing about the White Marlin Inn in Virginia Beach is its walking distance to the boardwalk and beach. Beyond that, our stay was awful and deeply disappointing. At check-in, I was told my booking had been cancelled that morning with no email, call, or explanation — extremely unprofessional after traveling 13 hours. Our room was filthy and clearly not cleaned. Though booked as non-smoking, it reeked of smoke. The bedding had burn holes, stains, and looked unwashed; dust, ashes, and cigarette remnants were everywhere. The AC barely worked, was caked in dust, and smelled of mildew. The chair was filthy, the TV didn’t work, lighting was poor, and nearly everything was broken, rusted, or beaten down. The bathroom was a health hazard with broken faucets, stained towels, and a strong mildew odor. The “kitchen” had a hole in the ceiling patched with paper and tape, filthy cabinets, and the “closet” was just a tiny space with one bent hanger. Safety was a serious concern — half the locks on the door were broken, and questionable activity around the property made it feel unsafe. Spiderwebs and dust lined the walls and corners, adding to the neglected, unsanitary conditions. For the price paid, this was unacceptable. We couldn’t wait to leave. This motel is unsafe, unsanitary, and should not be operating. All pictures attached are from our room. We intend to report this inn and strongly advise avoiding it. Spend the extra $100 for a proper place.

To start with, upon arrival the office had a sign that says to call for check in. At this point a lady came out of a room where people were drinking to check us in. I do not think my room was even an actual room because the sign was painted over and it looked like someone lived in it. The room was absolutely disgusting. The room was also clearly abandoned in the middle of a “cleaning” because the toilet scrubber was in the toilet, there were cleaners on the sink, and a pile of dirty towels on a chair. Additionally the beds were filthy, the floor was sticky and dirty, the fridge was gross, the freezer had left over food in it, the draws had hair and other trash in them, the bathtub was dirty. I have seen abandoned houses with cleaner rooms than what we were given at $219 a night… inexcusable. This place should be shut down immediately, there is absolutely no way this would pass any health inspection.
The door was painted over, I assume it was for an employee.
Floors were not clean
Bed was filthy. Both beds, I am just limited to 8 pictures…
The kitchen was disgusting.

I went to check in I saw the area was full of homeless people , I felt it was not safe to stay there so canceled my stay that very same day and I was charged for not staying there. The place was a dump sorry

When arrive at motel looks very shady thought it was pet friendly charges 150 for 1 small dog upfront no refund even it was very cheap room i wasnt happy with the customer service kinda rudelikelooks like homeless person to take the reception desk thought bit was a person lived in motel i am sorry to say this person should not walk in from the room to the office was not expecting a person to walk across like that wearing shoddy clothes even the motel was not that great looks like the hotel ghetto

Front desk lady was really nice. Our room was disgusting. Mold all over the bathroom. Bugs, flies, and roaches all over the place. Was desperate for a cheap two night stay, but left after the first night.

Paid but couldn't stay. Slept in the car instead

There was a change to my travel dates, so I had to book an emergency day at the last minute. The parking lot was a huge red flag, people arguing and what looked like drug deals, but it got worse. The lobby was unattended and things in disarray. When the receptionist finally came in grom outside she was less than friendly. After I told her I had a reservation she informed me "I had a balance" . Apparently, it's a resort fee. This is NOT a resort, but whatever. I paid. Upon entering the room the smell was pronounced. The linens on the bed were disgustingly dirty. The bathroom didn't look like it had been cleaned and the fixtures are beyond old and unkept. The curtain was coming off the rod, the carpet was filthy. We immediately went and turned the keys into the door slot and left. I understand this is an extreme budget motel but I couldn't stay there. Unacceptably dirty, the environment is dangerous and the employee is rude. We ended up sleeping in the car.
