Older hotel. Safe was very nice. My husband has Parkinson’s and we didn’t realize that there were only steps. Caused a little anxiety but we managed dragging our stuff up and down the stairs.

I chose this location it left an easy 4 hour drive back home after drive from Florida. A great many of the hotel/motel chains are within a tiny cluster just off I-95. The outward appearance of each is shabby and unininviting. Walterboro has been in steep decline for decades. There is nothing inviting. The usual chain restaurants also look shabby. I was saddened to see this impoverished community but unfortunately, it's not unlike many in the southern states we visit. I urge corporations in the hospitality business to get together to find ways to bolster the economy of these communities beyond just providing low paying jobs.

Check in hard some trouble finding my booking but it was past midnight. Rooms clean still has carpet and a little of a smell but it’s an older motel. Average bed. No frills perfect for a one night stay

Walterboro BW Letdown

TV didn’t work in our room and the lighting around the bathroom area wasn’t bright enough to put on makeup properly. The shower water pressure was minimal. Continental breakfast menu was just okay. Also had limited restaurant availability near the hotel. The closest restaurant had limited service staff and no bartender to make proper drinks.

The owner was there at breakfast she was so happy to see everyone it made it feel more at home.
