REDRUM - like is "The Shining"

Publié le 25 août 2017 sur Expedia
Pour : The bed was comfortable. The bathroom and shower were recently renovated. The gardens were nice, but not well maintained.
Contre : Contact information in case of an emergency should be posted.. Update the web-site photographs to reflect the current condition of the place.
Emplacement : Fortunately, there is a GREAT bakery a short distance away called STICKY FINGERS. Go there: the croissants were as good as any in France. All good.
We booked this place as a bed and breakfast. No breakfast. No staff on site. No information was provided at the hotel to help us find things in the area. We were not informed that this was a "self check in hotel" until after the cancellation date. Calling the Heritage office (off site) for assistance was useless as the staff could not answer our questions. The common areas were sparsely furnished and shabby. The outside deck area hadn't been swept in quite a while. The deck furniture was in bad shape. We found unlocked exterior doors nearly every time we returned to the hotel. It was pretty creepy to have the whole place to ourselves.

Overall a great stay

While it was a little strange to have to check in at a different location (it being offseason, I suppose), the directions were simple and the staff at the other location were courteous and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities we could want. We also had almost exclusive use of a nice veranda with seating - great for morning coffee and cocktails!

Bed and breakfast,not

No breakfast. They advertise swimming pool and workout facilities off-site but they don't tell you where that is. No bicycles at site. No staff to help. You get an email explaining how to use electronic keyed entry and combination for lock key box. No one to speak with about anything. Lovely facility otherwise. Comfortable. Just a strange experience overall.

Wish we could have figured out how to access the deck off our room.

Pleasantly surprised

The Snow Goose has been nicely remodeled and is much more luxurious than it used to be. Its a little different than a normal inn or BandB as there is no front desk of inn keeper on site. You check in at the Hermitage and you can go there for breakfast, dinner, bar, and use the guest facilities. Its a little pricey for this type of property but the access to the hermitage makes it a pretty good value. We enjoyed our stay very much and will return.

Cozy and clean inn

Publié le 27 févr. 2017 sur Hotels
Great room and in-room amenities. However the fact that the Inn is administered by the Hermitage club which is 5 miles away made things a little inconvenient when it came time to check in and out (there was no one on site, you have to check in at the club house). The Inn was close to multiple food options and on the main VT route 100 through town so was quite convenient aside from the separate check-in location.
