Hillside Hideout by Tiny Away, located on Manna Hill Farm, is a cozy tiny house just 30 minutes from Devonport city, in the rural locality of West Kentish. Surrounded by pastures and paddocks, the farm stay offers ever-changing views of Mt Roland and the scenic countryside.
This retreat is part of a collection of holiday homes providing easy access to iconic Tasmanian landmarks like Cradle Mountain, Mersey Bluff Lighthouse, The Tasmanian Arboretum, Tasmazia, and Mole Creek Caves—perfect for both relaxation and exploration.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.
Guest Access:
Guests can access the tiny home and farm spaces, but should respect the privacy of other guests in nearby cottages and the Manager's Residence.

Our local recommendations include Cradle Mountain, a park with beautiful mountains, wildlife, and hiking trails. Mersey Bluff Lighthouse overlooks Bass Strait and is great for whale watching and coastal walks. The Tasmanian Arboretum has many kinds of trees and native animals.
Tasmazia and the Village of Lower Crackpot is a fun place with mazes and activities for all ages. Mole Creek Caves offer underground tours to see limestone formations and glow worms.
Getting Around:
By Car:
- The tiny house is less than a 10-minute drive (7.5 km) from Sheffield, Tasmania.
- It's accessible by 2WD, though a short section of the road is unsealed.
By Public Transport:
- Guests will need their own transport as there is no taxi service or public transport available from the nearest town to the property.
By Flight:
- The closest major airport is Devonport Airport, about a 45-minute drive to the property. From there, car rental is recommended for reaching West Kentish.
Other Things to Note:
- Smoking is not allowed
- Gas BBQ Grill is available
- There is a friendly farm dog onsite
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality
- Recycling bins are provided and composting bins are near the vegetable gardens
- Make sure to turn off the lights, AC, electronics, close windows and doors when leaving
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Mobile reception has a good signal for Telstra and Optus; Weak signals for Vodafone and no signals for the rest
- The managers live onsite and there are other accommodation cottages on the property and near the accommodation area

- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
