Overall we had an awesome time.! A few things to point outâŠ. Patio furniture (chairs) need replacing as they are all sagging and falling apart. It was very uncomfortable sitting outside in them.
The 2 single beds upstairs are great if your 5â10 or shorterâŠ. Any taller and your feet will hang off the edge as these seemed more like kids beds.
Hot tub was great! Very clean and in great working order and the kitchen was well stocked. Both AC units kept the place nice and cool during the hot august heat. A bbq on the patio would have been a bonus as there was more then enough space for one.
Canât wait to come back!
We have stayed at many Glacier's Reach units & hands down, this has been the place we've loved the best!! There was ample space for our family of four.
Pros:
-Overall modern, spotless & well maintained unit
-Kitchen stocked with all the basic necessities including kids dinnerware
-Full sized fridge/freezer
-There's a coffeemaker + Tassimo machine(both of which we didn't use as we brought our own)
-numerous electrical outlets/dimmer lights throughout
-Walk in shower had the option to use either the rainfall showerhead or a handheld one.
-There's a small wall mounted hairdryer located in both bathrooms.
-Toiletries supplied:small facial/body bars, mini bottles of shampoo, conditioner as well as lotion.
-Comfortable beds(master has closet to hang plenty of clothes + large dresser drawer unit for everything else).
-No TV in master but there's a small one in top floor bedroom
- 2nd room on top floor was perfect for our 2 sons(age 13 & 10). There was a small wire rack in closet + cube shelf for storing clothes etc.
-There's a jetted bathtub/shower in top floor bathroom.
-Hottub was large & well maintained.
-Washer/dryer were a real plus!! Worked really well(you need to bring your own laundry detergent etc as none are provided)
-Quick access to walking/bike trails
-5 minute walk to lower village to access groceries, drugstore, liquor store or to grab a quick coffee :)
Cons:
-No BBQ (you may want to consider bringing a portable one)
-We found it a little noisy at night(people walking outside/hanging out late on patios so if you're a really light sleeper you might want to consider bringing earplugs)
Overall, this was a fabulous unit/experience & highly reccomend..we look forward to staying here again soon! :)
This was a great place to stay. We've stayed in another unit in Glacier's Reach before and it was also a lovely stay. The unit has everything you would need as far as kitchenware, both bathrooms were clean, modern, and fully functional. Unloading and loading our luggage was quite easy (easier than our previous unit) since there is a loading zone right outside the front entrance of the unit. Glacier's reach is only a 5 minute walk from restaurants and groceries in the Upper Village, so the location is great as well.
Just be aware that the unit spread across three floors (entrance on ground, living room, kitchen, and one bedroom on second floor, and second bedroom and hot tub on the third floor), so be warned if you don't like stairs. Spreading the unit across those three floors does make the unit feel a fair bit smaller than the other unit we stayed in previously.
We only had some minor complaints about the unit, but nothing that detracted from our stay. The beds didn't seem to have any fitted sheets, so they were using regular top sheets for the fitted bed sheet (they came loose often). The hot tub also had a few issues (the jet button wouldn't turn off, you could only set it to level 1 and level 2 bubbles, but couldn't turn them off completely), and one of the spots in the tub had a head rest that was pretty ragged. Also, and this isn't the owner's fault, but for some reason another unit's bathroom window opens onto the balcony where the hot tub is located, which is a rather strange architectural design. Otherwise the hot tub was private and comfortable.
The booking process was a little annoying, though. This unit is owned and maintained by Whistler Retreats. Apparently VRBO has been bought by Expedia now, and as a result, I had to give Whistler Retreats the number on the back of my credit card separately which worried me a bit (especially since there were no prior reviews on VRBO for this unit, and fraud can happen). They were quick to respond to my inquiries though, so it all worked out in the end. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay.
