The property manager and owner, Derek, lives locally, he is a 9 year resident of Whitefish and the Flathead Valley. Typically there is one in person checkin the first day of your stay. If there is any need, help or planning before or during your stay please reach out.

Big Mountain and Whitefish Mountain Resort:

The Whitefish Montana area is known for its close proximity to Glacier National Park, Whitefish Lake, Flathead Lake, Downtown Whitefish and Whitefish Mountain Resort.

Whitefish Mountain Resort is located a 6 mile drive up Big Mountain from Downtown Whitefish.

There are few year-round vacation rental options outside of Whitefish Mountain Resort in the Flathead Valley. This incredible mountain townhome, Wood Run Lodge is located on Wood Run Drive - with direct, easy and private ski access to the Home Again Trail that is groomed daily for perfect quick ski access on a private path direct to the Base Lodge of Whitefish Mountain Resort.

During the summer, hiking, mountain biking and, alpine slides, zip lines, gondola summit ride and picking huckleberries are immediately available right out the front door and within walking distance without needing to drive to a different location.

Wood Run Lodge allows for parking spaces sufficient for 2 small or 1 large vehicles inside of the garage. The driveway will accommodate up to 3 vehicles parked side to side. Parking vehicles end to end that will block the roadway outside of the driveway is prohibited. During the summer months there are 9 additional parking spaces for free on Wood Run Lodge. During the winter, extra cars can park on the downhill (right-hand) side of the road, all overnight winter parking must be within the driveway or in the dirt parking lot in front of Kandahar restaurant.

Wood Run Lodge is a Ski in Ski out property within the immediate village area of Whitefish Mountain Resort. There are 3 direct & private ski access points only allowed for guests or owners on Wood Run Drive, 2 at the top of the lane and 1 at the bottom of the lane. All 3 ski access utilize the Home Again Trail to ski to the Base Lodge and access Chairs, 6, 9, 4, 2 and 1 Big Mountain Express.

There is a small grocery store called Village Market & Glacier Gifts (with limited food, drink, treats and other home items) located 2 blocks away from Wood Run Lodge at 3893 Big Mountain Road, within the Village of Whitefish Mountain Resort. During peak Winter and Summer this store is open until 10 pm.

The Snow Bus is a free shuttle that provides hourly bus transit passenger rides from Whitefish Mountain Resort to Downtown Whitefish during the summer and winter.
No Smoking anywhere on property or on premise! This includes the back deck, front porch or driveway. Only smoking permitted is in your vehicle (not parked in the garage) or on the roadway outside of the driveway further away from the townhome.

No Candles allowed anywhere in the townhome, this includes the back deck.

No Mountain Bikes, Skis, Ski Boots, Ski Poles, SnowBoards, Snowboard Boots or other large outdoor / equipment allowed inside the townhome, this also includes in the Mud Room / Drop Zone.

No trash to be left outside/outdoors as there are a lot of bears in the area. It is not allowed to pile trash on the garage floor. It is guests responsibility to take excess trash that will not fit in the 2 garbage cans in the garage to the trash compactor during their stay. The trash compactor is located near the Big Mountain Fire Station 2 blocks away.

Deck Chairs are Not allowed inside of the townhome on the main floor or elsewhere. No rearranging the interior furniture or moving furniture to another location or room (without prior specific approval).

Hot Tub Cover to be replaced and covering the hot tub when not in use.

Exterior gas fireplace to be turned off when not immediately near it or not in immediate use with guests in close proximity either on the back deck or using the hot tub.

Wood Run Lodge does host guest activities and events With prior approval, coordination, authorization and potentially additional fees, before checkin. Otherwise No events, weddings, group gathers or work trainings allowed. (please ask the host and we can provide more information)

No pets. There are many guests that stay at Wood Run Lodge that have pet allergies and significant cleaning is required. All guests with service animals to coordinate with property manager prior to their stay.

Guests are expected to be good stewards of this mountain townhome during their stay and report any incidental damage of the building, furniture, furnishings, all kitchen ware and maintain the quality of the property and furnishings that are being provided.

My friends and I put together an annual ski trip visiting different states and resorts each year, and without a doubt, this was the best property that we've stayed at. We loved it so much that we will absolutely look to rebook this property if we're ever back in Whitefish!The house was extremely spacious and well stocked with plenty of kitchenware, towels, cleaning supplies, etc. Its location was also prime with close proximity to stores, restaurants, and bars, and being able to ski in and out of the resort was super convenient. Also, the panoramic views of the mountains from the property were jaw-droppingly amazing!However, what made our experience staying at this property really special was the host, Derek, and his attentiveness to every aspect of our stay. He's one of the most friendly, communicative, and accommodating hosts that we've ever had the pleasure of interacting with! Derek messaged us throughout the stay to ensure that there were no issues with the property and that we were provided with a great experience. He also sent the hot tub technician periodically during our stay for water testing and treatment. We've stayed at many different properties throughout the years, and this was the first property where the host cared to service the hot tub during the stay. It's the details like this that made this stay truly exceptional.Derek, thank you for providing us with such a wonderful experience! We'll surely be back in the future!

The host was incredibly easy to work with and incredibly friendly. The house was larger than anticipated, with multiple living rooms providing ample space for everyone. The hot tub was meticulously cleaned and checked every other day, and the garbage was collected several times a week, which was a huge plus. The house was well-maintained, and each bedroom was furnished with comfortable beds and decent-sized rooms.

We had a large group of 15 people 1 baby who stayed here for my wedding in GNP. This house was PERFECT! So gorgeous, had everything we needed. The only thing that we felt wasn’t clear in the listing was that it wasn’t the whole house in the photo; it was a duplex. But we had no issues with that at all. We had privacy and Derek was a great and very communicative host. 1000/10 would recommend!

Was able to accomodate 24 of us for our family reunion. Whatever wasn't there, Derek was very responsive in getting us what we needed. Needed coaching on parking to avoid neighbor complaints, but would rent this place again with no hesitation. Thanks again Derek!

Perfect Stay; Family reunion.

A wonderful week-long stay for family reunion! The mountain home is very well appointed, clean and spacious. Activities nearby for all ages. Derek (owner) was readily available to address any issues that may arise. Although we had no issues during our stay, it was nice to know Derek was there to handle anything/everything at a moment’s notice. Communication was outstanding. Highly recommend!

This was a great property for a large group. We had 18 people, and there was plenty of room for everyone. We really enjoyed the large living area - it allowed all of us to get together and play games or talk. The kitchen was the best stocked we have ever had at a rental.Derek was a great host and very responsive. He even came by to introduce himself one evening.
The little ones loved the hot tub.

We had an amazing time at Wood Run. This property had everything we needed to accommodate 18 a baby. The distance to Glacier National Park was ideal. Spacious areas to sprawl out and relax at night. A great big dining area for meals and boardgames. We lucked out with some good weather while we stayed in late May. The host, Derek, made sure to stop by for an introduction and offered tons of information about the area and things to do. A morning coffee in the hot tub with gorgeous mountain views is hard to beat. 10/10 Would stay again.

Great ski trip with friends

Great house. Plenty of room and comfortable for everyone. There was only 10 of us but this house will sleep 25. Great views from the deck. Easy ski in/out. Plenty of parking. We had a great stay.

Christmas 2024

The perfect house to accommodate our family's Ski Christmas Celebration on Whitefish Mountain! Derek was most helpful if needed, but actually the amenities advertised were all in place and the house was even nicer than depicted online. We all hope to return to this house for another gathering.

Amazing vacation!

The host was excellent on communication, very quick to respond. I felt very cared for. Our family was overwhelmingly happy with this home and all the extras it has. Very spacious for the down time. We were not far from Whitefish and Kalispell for site seeing. I will definitely recommend this home to family and friends.

Dream house in Whitefish

Had an amazing stay at Derek's home in Whitefish. We were a large group (13 people) who came to explore Glacier National Park. Derek's home is just like the pictures and there is PLENTY of space for everyone. Kitchen was well stocked (as going out to dinner with 13 people would've been a bit difficult). There are 2 washer/dryers, 2 dishwashers, and a HUGE refrigerator/freezer. Just note the bunk room does not have a door. Derek was extremely communicative throughout our stay. Check in/out was very easy. You are about 45 mins to the west entrance of Glacier, 1.5 hours to Logan's Pass Visitor Center. About 15 mins away from downtown Whitefish. You can walk to Whitefish resort which also had a ton of activities for the kids. Would highlight recommend Derek's home!

Family vacation to Glacier Park

The house was great (roomy, clean, well-stocked kitchen) for our family of 20 (ages 7-70). The hot tub was used daily! Derek was very friendly, visiting us the first evening to give tips about huckleberry picking, trash compactor location, etc. He was also very prompt to answer questions before and during our visit. We really appreciated the TWO dishwashers and TWO laundry rooms. We highly recommend this house.

Amazing house and hosts

We stayed with a family of 13 kids and 10 adults. There was plenty of space for all of us and such fun features. The house was clean and well equipped. The location was amazing with incredible views and lots of trails. The property manager was amazing to work with and gave us TONS of local recommendations that added to the fun of our trip. He even shared his secret huckleberry picking spot and our kids had a blast picking and eating them. I would highly recommend this for your next family trip.

Amazing house

House was perfect for our family. Perfect amount of rooms and space for everyone. Kitchen is amazing and appliances were great. Stepping into the hot tub was a the perfect way to end the night. Fishing & Golf Weekend

Had a tremendous weekend in Whitefish with a group of guys, largely due to this property. The property is very easy to get to, in outstanding shape, and built for hosting a large group of any age. The views off the back deck are incredible, and so far so that a group of non-hikers were enticed to climb the mountain. Super relaxing weekend and we all agreed that we would be back.
