This property was fine but not what I expected because it is not a B&B, it’s a hostel. It has small rooms and shared bathrooms (as advertised) although the bear room did have its own personal bathroom which I appreciated. The common areas were not super clean but not super dirty either. I like places to be super clean so this was not up to par for me personally. The neighborhood seemed very safe and was easy to get to.

Hi, we're sorry that the cleanliness was not "up to par" for you. Cleaning is done daily, but there are a few shared spaces so expectations should be set accordingly, and our prices are also significantly more economical than many other options mainly because of our unique setup. We offer guest access to a kitchen, dining room, laundry, and 2 living rooms and feel that there is a lot of value in those amenities.You are right, we are not a B&B. We no longer offer breakfast and have changed our name accordingly. I'm sorry if you expected a B&B, as we don't operate or advertise as a B&B. That being said, we are absolutely NOT a hostel as you have claimed. Hostels are usually defined by having bunk beds, shared bathrooms with several stalls, and can usually accommodate large amounts of guests. I stayed at many hostels in my youth, as hostel are often geared towards youth (which our establishment is not), and none of the hostels I have ever stayed at are in a house (like our establishment). So just to be clear, we are much more like a B&B then a hostel.

I liked was a house. I did not like the bed was small.

Hello Robin,We're sorry that you did not like the bed size. You stayed in the "wolf" room which has a queen size bed (the 2nd largest kind of bed available). I would suggest that you book the "Bear" room with the king size bed in the future if that is your preference.Thanks,JG

We were very happy with our stay at Wild North Bed & Rest. We were in the Elk room, which was clean and spacious and had its own heater as well as extra blankets and pillows. The bathroom had those extra items that travellers forget, all ready for any travellers that might have forgotten them. The kitchen was well equipped, available for morning coffee or to have supper at home. Josh and Pamuela were friendly and very knowledgeable of the area. All in all, we feel this was an excellent choice for our stay in Whitehorse.

Great kitchen and also a laundry room. Rooms a bit cold, and walls are quite thin between rooms.

The kitchen was shared and not clean. Musty smell downstairs. Price was high for being in shared bathroom and kitchen. It was more like a hostel.

Hello Cornelia, thanks for your feedback. I am a little surprised by some of your comments. Firstly, I have stayed at many hostels, and every one was mainly a dorm room setup, and none of them were in a house. I've had a couple people make this comparison and I respectfully disagree. We recently did an industrial strength carpet cleaning downstairs (upstairs is not carpeted),removed old wallpaper oin the bathroom and painted, in my opinion it is not musty downstairs. As for the kitchen, we like to offer it to guests, and we personally cleaned the it when we were done so that you could use it, and then offered you oil, spices, and tea. You paid around 60 per person, and that's about half of the average price in Whitehorse, and almost none of the other accomodations offer use of a kitchen. I'd like to say that I could use your feedback to make improvements, but there wasn't really anything constructive that can be improved upon. We are very clear with what we offer, and are greatly discouraged when people leave a mediocre review based on shared spaces when our property description clearly states that there is a shared kitchen, bathroom and laundry room.
