Charming historic bungalow built in 1917 in the Carolina Place neighborhood of Downtown Wilmington. A quaint area which offers beautiful tree-lined streets, front porches, sidewalks for walking your dog, pushing a stroller, or simply out for an evening stroll, and a beautiful mix of older and thoughtfully restored homes.

On more than one occasion, I have been told our neighborhood is reminiscent of where "Gilmore Girls" meets "The Andy Griffith Show."

(Interesting tidbit: 2 doors down is the home featured on the former TV show "One Tree Hill"...a VERY popular show filmed in Wilmington with a huge fan base. The home 2 doors down is the home where the show's main character Lucas Scott [played by Chad Michael Murray] lived in the fictitious town of Tree Hill!

* 2 Full Bedrooms - 2 FULL Bathrooms (primary bath includes a clawfoot bathtub and rain showerhead)
* Queen Beds in each bedroom

There is even a portable pet gate and doggie bowls available if needed.

So, whether you are visiting Wilmington for the beach, golfing, shopping, antiquing, exploring, fishing, biking, attending a wedding, visiting UNC-W, or just to get away from it all....this home is the perfect location for your Wilmington stay! We hope you will love our home as much as we do!!!!!!

Had a wonderful month's stay at Carolina Cottage. Charming home! Spent many a morning having coffee on the front porch in the rocking chairs or swing. Very safe neighborhood, lots of dog walkers going by, and friendly neighbors.The house is well appointed. Nice TVs in living room and each bedroom. Well supplied kitchen with dishes, utensils, pots, pans, coffee maker, Keurig, toaster. Beautiful woodwork throughout the house, hardwood floors, antiques, nicely decorated.Dena and Darren were great hosts. Very fast to respond to questions or any needs I had while there. I would highly recommend staying here.

Carolina Cozy Cottage was the perfect place for us to stay with our pup. The home is comfortable and in a great location! We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood and how convenient it was to get to everything we wanted to do. There were even supplies for our pup which was great since we forgot his water and food bowl!5/5 stars! I highly recommend this truly cozy cottage.

The house is absolutely charming, just like the neighborhood. Dena was so kind and thoughtful, she makes you feel right at home! They have everything you need - even potty bags for your dogs. And they are SO amazing about bringing your pups. Seriously if you are considering this property go for it. The location is perfect, its a happy little house, and the hosts are top notch!

This was a great property in a great location. It was really cute and had everything we needed. The porch was great for relaxing and people watching. All of the neighbors said hi when they walked by and the little dog next door was cute and friendly with our dog. The location was very convenient to the downtown/ riverfront area.

Reunion of old friends

We truly enjoyed staying at the cottage. It was comfortable, and charming. We appreciated a chance to stay in an older home, as I always wished we could have a home like that.We also appreciated the ability to take our little doggies with us. We had a great time in Wilmington :)

Cozy Getaway in the cutest neighborhood

This cozy cottage was exactly what the doctor ordered for our family getaway. The house had everything we needed (the front porch got a lot of use:)), the beds were comfy, and we felt right at home. Easy drive to the beach and super close to downtown! Dena is the best and took great care of us!

Great accommodations in a vibrant neighborhood

The home was perfect for my wife and me; and our doggy. Enjoyed taking walks in the neighborhood with our lab. Very eclectic feel with great landscaping ideas. Able to stay on my running schedule at the local YMCA, around the block and out at Greenfield park which is a few minute drive. The home has a very comfortable feel with a great porch out front to relax. Seemed to be in close proximity to everywhere we wanted to go. Recommend staying here when you're in the area.

Quaint Historic Home

My husband and furry kids enjoyed our stay at the yellow cottage. The neighborhood is mature with older homes, trees and friendly people. The house is comfortable, nicely decorated with a vintage feel. Dena the host is accommodating, quick to respond and lovely to deal with. Old world charm with southern hospitality.

The house is in the perfect location for race day. It was 4 miles from the finish line. If you are there to be near downtown Wilmington, this is perfect. Quaint neighborhood and beautiful historic home. It had everything we needed.

Charming cottage

Fantastic find! The location is perfect, offers an interesting neighborhood just for strolling. It's close to the Riverwalk, an attraction not to be missed. Bellamy Mansion tour is excellent. The owner was so kind and helpful. Her cottage is lovely. We highly recommend booking here.

We have stayed at Dena’s place twice. The location is perfect. The first stay we took our Cavalier King Charles. The neighborhood was perfect to walk him. The house is great. There’s a swing on the front porch so you can sit and relax. Dena was very nice and went beyond to make our stay great!

Great stay

It was a great stay and perfect location and proximity to the city. It wasn’t under great circumstances that we were visiting due to a funeral but it made for the perfect place to unwind and relax through an emotional time. We didn’t ever really need anything but Dena had great communication nonetheless should we actually meet anything. Rules are clear, neighborhood was cute and if I had the option I would definitely stay here again.

Week in Wilmington

We stayed in this dog friendly rental during a very hot week in July. The location is just a mile or so outside of downtown Wilmington and and easy drive to food, historic sites and the beach. The AC unit kept the house very comfortable despite temperatures in the mid 90s. The home was conveniently set up to accommodate our curious dog without much trouble. Empie dog park is a few minutes away and the neighborhood was an excellent location for daily walks. Bedding, towels, appliances, tv and other amenities were perfect and many small touches made this bungalow a wonderful stay. Highly recommended!
