I had the best nights sleep I have had for years in any hotel I’ve stayed in! The bed was so comfortable and so were the pillows!!!!its so well situated for City Centre and Cathedral! Only thing I’d say is the room needed a little sprucing up! Saying that the price was very reasonable! Parking a little tricky!!

I needed a bed for the night at short notice in the town it was ok it did the job looks like it needs a refurb look lol a 1970’s hotel the room was so hot was given a fan which was rubbish so asked for another at reception and one was given to us so managed a little sleep . I did her the lady in front of me ask for another pillow and she was told they didn’t have any pillows !! Lady on reception was nice and helpful

The front staff was excellent. Unfortunately, the construction right outside my window was disruptive, though that may not have been the hotel's fault. Housekeeping hustled me out of the room right before checkout time which I found a bit not nice as I was already ready to leave and didn't need to be hurried out. (Additionally, the shower gel bottle was empty when I went to take a shower. I chose not to bring this to someone's attention as I had my own soap I could easily grab, but it's something the hotel could quality check should they want to after reading this review.)
Great location!!
Stayed here many times over the last couple of decades. First time since it got sold by Mercure. Worst room I’ve ever had here. No air con in summer means sleeping with the window open but it looks out onto the noisy corner of a car park so you get endless noise from cars and the shouty owners.
Bed rather hard but that might just be a personal preference thing.
Bathroom incredibly tired - grouting is grim and rather perished, bath panel rattling in the breeze, etc. Not untypical for this hotel as it has been looking tired for years yet still no refit.
The bathroom of room 133 had dirty grouting and extensive lime scale on the edge of the bath. The room was extremely noisy with lorry movements to a warehouse opposite and rubbish trucks for a large part of the nights
A really nice hotel, with a comfortable room, very good meals, and easy walking distance to major sites in Winchester. We look forward to staying there again. Thank you!
Our room was on the Cathedral side. We could not see the Cathedral because of the trees, but we enjoyed them and the green meadow, the calm, and the bells when we opened the window. The location was super for walking to the historical sites, museums, restaurants, grocery store, and the train station.
The room we had was a good size and with good facilities(comfortable bed/bathroom etc) our only reservation was that some of the decor needs updating eg settee was worn and not very comfortable.
However, overall the room was good value and our stay was thoroughly enjoyable
