Very clean and comfortable room! The one thing that sucked as they had the windows open when we arrived (in February!) and our room was FREEZING and it took quite a while to get it warm. There were great bathroom amenities, although the shower conditioner was actually just more soap when I put it in my hair. I thought I had breakfast included when I booked but was told I did not so we didn't try the breakfast as we found it quite a high price (almost 17 GBP, which is about $35 per person). The staff were not the most helpful, kind of didn't give much direction and when we called about extra pillows (there was specifically a card in the room saying we had pillow options) we were ignored the first time, called 30 minutes later and told there weren't really options and he just brought us 2 more. The location is pretty walkable to York's main sites and there's enough room to pull a car up for loading/unloading.

Bed was small, place doesn’t look anywhere near as nice as it looks in the pictures. Definitely needs updating and some money investing. It’s not awful but definitely not as good as advertised. Room also wasn’t cleaned during the stay and had to ring for clean towels. Disappointing stay

The room 207 that we had 24hr noise from the fans from below. Also the windows are not sealing properly as the net curtain was blowing all the time, keeping it cool. Having to turn thermostat up to get warm

The girl on reception could not of done more to accommodate our request for a room on a lower floor. Even double checking that I was ok to be on the third (I have a fear of lifts and am asmatic, so this was really appreciated) it meant I could use the stairs if I could not use the lift, thank you

The room was not ready until 15:45 despite a 15:00 check in. The window in the room was open and would not close. The room was freezing. A maintenance person came to fix it so had drill and tools in our room whilst we waited. The wardrobe door fell off completely when opened, which could have resulted in injury. The door to the room was filthy. This was not an enjoyable stay. A complaint has been lodged.

Check in team were welcoming. However the room was really noisy - there were air conditioner type fans directly outside the window which droned all night very loudly. Pillows were very hard. Hash browns were excellent, coffee however was not good. Really disappointed by nights sleep.

I had a twin bed room where the beds were close together it was more like a double bed. Apart from the room being clean there was coat hooks above full lenth mirror. having a small single wardrobe for 2 people ended up not having hardly any room to move around.

The bed was very uncomfortable, two single beds put together and not joined properly so there was a giant ridge in the middle. I asked for 4 pillows at reception, explaining that I needed to sleep propped up. I was only given three, which I find hard to believe given the size of the hotel. The thermostat seemed to have a mind of its own so it was boiling hot one minute and freezing cold the next. You couldn’t even open the window a crack to let some air in. The staff seemed indifferent to our requests and our feedback. We wouldn’t stay at this particular Holiday Inn again.
