Thoroughly happy!

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: pay for parking
This was our 3rd trip into Ottawa and to this specific hotel. Their staff were friendly and courteous. The room was clean and met our expectations. We arrived earlier than expected and we booked in early with no problems.

Great value for the price

Pros: location primarily and cost
Cons: nothing really
It really was all that I expected and well worth the cost- well priced for sure. We did have two false fire alarms so that was a little disruptive but they handled them well and thank god for that as they may well have been for real. Not a test I was looking for, but ...... I would stay there again without any thought to look for other hotels.

Great location close to Byward Market

Pros: Location is excellent.
Cons: The wifi is a bit flaky and they indicated they were looking at options. The pool area was nice but the gym aka closet was a bit tiny.
Location: If you need a real gym head over to GoodLife in the Rideau Centre if you are a member. Visit the National art Gallery. Lunch at dubliner pub...
Rooms are comfortable. Location very easy to find and to leave at the end of our stay. Breakfast buffet was good value to start the day. I would stay here again.

Great location, good beds

I chose the Novotel Ottawa for my recent trip because it was very close to my conference (at the Westin) but was much more budget friendly. The location was fabulous - across the street from Rideau Center and only 2 blocks from Byward market - so there were excellent shopping and dining options all within walking distance. The hotel was well maintained and the staff were excellent allowing me to switch to a double room when my roommate arrived. We did have a fire alarm in the middle of the night that was very disruptive...but I don't know what the hotel could have done to prevent it. I would definitely stay here again if they had the same competitive rate!

good location

the location was perfect walking distance from a lot of stuff. even walked back from the museum of civilization in hull and it only took about twenty minutes. right next door to the rideau centre. (shopping, restaurants, Goodlife gym {recommended over the provided hotel gym} the hotel was very busy on account of a kids hockey tournament, and there was a lot of kids/pre-teens roaming the hallways - but simply asking them to be quiet was sufficient and didn't need to get the hotel staff involved. the bigger downside was there was no top sheet on the bed - just the comforter, and while it looked ""comfortable"" i prefered to have a top sheet between me and the ""communal"" comforter. the pop machine didn't work, but the mini bar was well stocked - although expensive (as mini bars usually are) flat screen TV was nice, and were a definite must in the smaller rooms.
